That's his pledge.I can't believe that this will happen tbh.
But if it did I'm sure Ollie would find a way to make him sparkle, like he does with most of our squad.
I’d take him on loan for a season but wouldn’t want to fork out £40m+ to sign him.Total no brainer - he adds something to our midfield that has been missing since he left - GOALS!
Hughes has been great - is great, but has physical limitations and doesn’t often hit the target, let alone score.
The loan must include an option to buy (at a fixed price) otherwise what’s the point - we’ll just be putting him in the shop window for Atleti’s benefit.

He’s a box to box midfielder who I suspect would take Hughes’ spot. We need to focus our attention and dosh on an Eze replacement, two CB’s, RWB cover and another attacker.
Conor was awesome for us but other positions need filling first.
So does my Mrs. She really fancied him when he played for Palace. She may even start watching Palace matches with me again. If it wasn't old Fabricateo Romano reporting on this I'd think it could happen lol
Seriously though, Gallagher would be a great addition and think could do a great job as a 10
Hope it happens
Looks like £150k, still way to much for usWhy are we still discussing this?
If he earns £200,000 per week we'd have to sell Eze, Guehi, Kamada, Wharton, Mateta, Henderson
and Uncle Tom Cobley to cover it.
Having a six figure plus wage is not conducive to changing clubs, least of all to Palace.
Also fitness levels at atletico are high to my understanding. Simone pushes the players hard so he should come in ready to go. Ollie can get the best out of himThink if he does come in, he is the Eze replacement. I know we are not used to him playing that far forward but he can, and has done it at times for all of his clubs. It’s the only space he really fits in in this system for me, unless we change shape to fit him in, which I can’t see.
He’d be more than capable in that position for us, he is both a more technical and goalscoring option than we have available, and of course adds another body to the currently lean ranks.
Would be very happy with this. Seems to be something in it, an approach has been made, whether anything comes of it we’ll have to wait and see, only a week to go and we’ll know for sure.
True, but if we could get one or two decent midfielders like Gallagher, then we could sell if a big offer comes in next year. One would have to wonder if Gallagher is to replace Adam Wharton whom has been linked to quite a few clubs for big money in this window 🤔. Nothing surprises me any more .
The only planning seems to be to get rid of the manager.True, but if we could get one or two decent midfielders like Gallagher, then we could sell if a big offer comes in next year.
However, that sounds like planning ahead - which we clearly are not capable of. So I'd say forget everything I just said.
Glasner showing us up. We need Southgate to toe whatever line we're spouting at the time. In his calm voice. The only planning seems to be to get rid of the manager.
