Would be a great loan signing and would strengthen the squad. but I don't know where he would fit in. Hughes and Wharton are doing a great job, we also have Kamada, Devenney and Lerma, plus he isn't forward-thinking enough to replace Eze. Glasner has said he wants a more direct, forward player in that role, a la Sarr.
 
Total no brainer - he adds something to our midfield that has been missing since he left - GOALS!

Hughes has been great - is great, but has physical limitations and doesn’t often hit the target, let alone score.

The loan must include an option to buy (at a fixed price) otherwise what’s the point - we’ll just be putting him in the shop window for Atleti’s benefit.

I’d take him on loan for a season but wouldn’t want to fork out £40m+ to sign him.

He’s a box to box midfielder who I suspect would take Hughes’ spot. We need to focus our attention and dosh on an Eze replacement, two CB’s, RWB cover and another attacker.

Conor was awesome for us but other positions need filling first.

I agree re the other positions- but we have to replace the goals contributed by Ebs. Gallagher would do that (albeit from a different position on the pitch and in different ways to Ebs) but it doesn’t matter where they come from as far as I’m concerned.
 
If Connor, wants this move maybe it could happen. Can’t see Atletico needing to move him on yet, it’s reported they have no interest in a loan deal anyway ,so where that leaves Palace is not to good.
OG must know about this move so must know how to use Connor. Connor brings goals , none of our midfield do that, sorry to say only Lerma, has the occasional really dangerous shot in him , so if Connor is used in his more attacking mode that would give us more bite.
 
Loan only, he has isn't as good as he many think he is, a great 4 months for Palace, and nowt since. we need a craftsmen not a labourer.
 
I’d be very surprised if this happens. He’s still featuring for Athletico all be it quite often from the bench but not like he’s been frozen out of the squad. If it did though it would be good news. He’s better than what we have.

Seriously though, Gallagher would be a great addition and think could do a great job as a 10

Also fitness levels at atletico are high to my understanding. Simone pushes the players hard so he should come in ready to go. Ollie can get the best out of him
 
One would have to wonder if Gallagher is to replace Adam Wharton whom has been linked to quite a few clubs for big money in this window 🤔. Nothing surprises me any more .

True, but if we could get one or two decent midfielders like Gallagher, then we could sell if a big offer comes in next year.
However, that sounds like planning ahead - which we clearly are not capable of. So I'd say forget everything I just said.
