All speculation on my part.

If we hold Ebs to his contract we don't really need to sign too many. If we do well this year chances are he may be happy to see his career out at Palace. If Odsonne and Daichi go, which wouldn't really affect our squad, there would be money for a couple more additions that Ollie is after. Plus we'd be saving a fortune on Daichi's wages. Also we must surely still have money on top from sales of Olise and Andersen etc plus cup and league money

No. He’s a box to box midfielder and certainly not a straight swap for Eze. We’re well stocked in CM and should not be spending £40m +200k pw for a position which doesn’t need filling.

We have a World Cup coming up which is the pinnacle of a career . He wants to be playing every week .

If he came (and it's a big if) I would expect to see him play in Ebs' role as an attacking midfielder. In many ways his high energy style is better suited to OG's system than the languid technical brilliance of Ebs.

He was for sure, but what about his more recent form? I wrote earlier on here that I loved his spell with us although he hasn't shown enough progression in his game to convince me that he'd give us an upgrade.
