Gallagher

A loan for Gallagher, yes. But only for numbers.

I'd sign El Kannouss for sure, and maybe Pino or Tzolis. Maybe all if we have the money.
We need proper cover for Munoz as well.

Gallagher is great if you play him as a central attacking midfielder. If you don't, he's not. That was the case with us, Chelsea and at Athletic. If he did come, I feel like it would be more of a Parish signing than a Glasner one. Right now, he strengthens our squad, but I don't really see where he fits in OG's system and he's only likely to come with assurances over playing time.

As a player with further experience considering his spell in Spain, and also his previous time with us I would definitely welcome Gallagher back into the fold. Of course, it all depends on economics, and does Glasner need a player with his particular attributes given that there are probably other positions that need to be looked at first?

Conor is at his best as the AM in a 4-3-3; He's not that effective as a midfielder in a 3-4-2-1, nor is he likely to excel as a no 10 in the same system, so I don't see OG wanting him. However, if OG has made it clear to Parish that he's not staying beyond his current contract (or Parish fears OG might walk sooner), this might be Parish wanting Gallagher in place for the next manager.

However, I suspect this rumour is no more than click-bait nonsense

For a moment there I thought you were suggesting Gallagher becomes our next manager!

While our system is rigid at the back and with the 2 central midfielders there is a degree of flexibility thereafter.
The wing backs are free to break forward and Sarr frequently moves into a more central position close to Mateta.

What we lack is a player to break quickly into the opposition penalty area, which is exactly Gallagher's strength.
He has great attacking instincts and is a good finisher.
He's also a very hard working player which is a prerequisite of Glasner.

By the way, I think there's little chance of it happening unless there are circumstances leading to the possibility of a loan.
To use Glasner's term though, he offers a different type of 'profile' than our other players and wasn't he player of the year on his previous loan?

Gallagher, hmm, poor mans, Hughes
Hughes is very underrated.

It's only his physical limitations that stop him being top class.
