I also don’t think he’ll be overly successful at a club like Spurs. Like when Zaha left.
He Is a truly wonderful player, but what made him shine out was the system that he plays in here. Look at the FA Cup final - Man City had a number of players on that pitch who if given space can do damage. But they didn’t get space. They had all the possession, but I’d argue Palace look the most likely to score every time.
Ebs is part of a three. Him, Sarr and Mateta - and the space that he was given to look brilliant was created by them, in the same way he created space in return. I think he’s a kind of player who works in a fast counter attacking side and those three gelled.
I’m not sure he will work as well in a side that’s going be possession based and expected to dominate against all bar half a dozen teams.
If he goes good luck to him, thank you for the memories.

Add to that Parish's statement that he was surprised that no-one came in for Eze last Summer, can we surprised that the player's on his way?
Unlike others, I don't have a particular hatred for Spurs (in fact, I don't particularly hate any club). They've got CL football this season and in Thomas Frank they have the manager I'd quite like to have at Palace if Glasner wasn't here.

- He's provided some brilliant moments for us over the five years he's been here
- We bought him knowing that if he was going to be as good as the club thought he was going to be, the day would come when we would sell him for a decent profit.

Eze can go to Spurs, while the hype machine is rolling it's time to cash in! Personally I find him a tad over rated, he can't tackle or header, takes a terrible penalty and goes missing in games. Inconsistent. Clubs pay for consistency, and should we get a sizable fee for him then Spurs fans will soon find out what he's all about.

No denying any of that but he's still one of the most exciting players we've ever had who's capable of creating a buzz whenever he gets the ball and I love watching him play. Whether the Spuds' fans will cut him as much slack as we have is doubtful and if they start getting on his case it could go wrong for him there.

Plus the move is fundamental in our new(ish) strategy of buying potential and reselling for profit with the aim of strengthening the squad as a whole. However painful it is to see great players leave I accept it as I think it's a sensible longer term plan.
My main concern is do we have the know-how to recruit properly. Imo opinion if we get around 60m we need to bring in 3 decent players with a high ceiling. Not get suckered into putting most of it into desperately seeking a replacement and spending 40m+ on someone like Elliott etc. There are players to be found if we're smart, but the purchase of Nketiah last year still concerns me. This broke our reasonably successful transfer model and has been fairly disastrous.

Exactly. There's no point replacing Eze with a player who's ready to hit the ground running. The strategy is surely to strengthen the squad when selling such a player as Eze. This means that we'll have to go with Devenny, Esse or one of the new players who would be brought in with the proceeds (possibly El Khannouss).
Yes, it means that we probably won't be as good up front as we have been to start with and it will take time with this strategy to build a quality first team Squad that will move us further up the league but we just have to be patient.
It will be interesting to see how many players we bring in with the Eze money. Like you, I'm hoping for 3.

It is frustrating but it is also difficult to make a sale happen earlier than buying clubs want to, unless demand is high. We could however buy cheap replacements before selling. Then there’s the debate over how much do you lose in negotiations in transfers both ways buying before or after.
