Eze to spurs?

We're in a much stronger position as far as Wharton is concerned. 3 & a half years left on his contract (3 years in January) with no release clause. We can and should just keep him regardless. Maybe even get him to extend his contract? I see him as captain material. Calm, composed, leads by example and never seems ruffled.
Of course he'll go at some point. All players do but I think he needs to stay with us at least another couple of years.
I mean the speculation/rumour mill will start again. Whether there's any chance of him leaving doesn't occur to the clickbait sites.

So Eze not in the squad tonight, so I guess that's that.

But where's the supposed replacement before he leaves?

I can't imagine Ollie is too happy right now!

Based on your post, I agree. But as fans we probably know less than 20% of any story in advance at best.
Maybe, just maybe we have already signed options to buy both Digby and Khalloous subject to medicals for a combined 50m!!!
Glass half full or what.

Sorry yes I should have realised thats what you meant. Been a long day. On that point I agree but its nice to feel more comfortable in these situations these days. Under Jordan, Golberg, Noades, Bloye there only needed to be a hint of interest in one of our players in the papers and you knew it was a matter of time before they were sold and usually on the cheap too.
These days as Parish has proved in this negotiation as well as with talks over Guehi, Olise, Zaha, etc he puts the clubs best interests first and drives a hard bargain. The minute the click baiters and the hacks started telling lies over Eze a couple of months ago I knew it would go one way or the other. 1. Eze would stay or 2. We'd get full value for him. I expect the exact same if things escalate with Liverpool over Guehi.

Why the hell would they agree a deal that prevents him saying goodbye in such a match at home.

I get all the crap about possible injury but this just smacks of them acting like proper Arses if it was them who insisted.

As someone has just posted, where is our replacement prior to sale and we’ve also got Forest coming up at the weekend who will probably just laugh at us and our amateur hour antics.

I’ve never heard of players playing in competitive matches the night before a medical and a big money move. And to play to say goodbye before a 60 odd mil deal? Really?

Usually neither of the 3 parties want to take the risk.

Errr, ever considered they could have set the date at a different time. It ain’t rocket science. Glasner already thought he was playing until this afternoon.

Being the night before the medical isn’t the only thing. All 3 parties want the deal done. He could get injured and deal off. Why all of a sudden some think there should be a delay to risk that and him wave goodbye I don’t know.

How long have you been supporting Palace? Things tend to go wrong. He can go on the pitch to take applause at half-time. Of course, he'll probably slip and break a leg on the way down

Players get hurt in games ,that’s it . £67.5mill balanced on that . A serious injury , break, muscle tear, crusciate. £67.5 mill down the drain.
