Some good posts on this thread and agree with a lot of what has been said. My thoughts are:
- Sad, he has legendary status for the FA Cup final goal alone so his departure would always be such.
- Disappointing that it’s Spurs, awful football club and can’t see much for him there beyond a taste of CL football. May be worse than Wilf’s experience. Thomas Frank though, so you never know.
- Seems right however, Ebs is mercurial albeit World Class on his day. Had a few WHU fans tell me same thing about Kudus of course and it’s a very ‘Spursy’ signing.
- F**king annoying, on the eve of our first game and with virtually no money spent. Our summer ‘window’ seems to go from quite bad to even worse.
- Hard not to be bitter, I don’t think there’s any obligation on any player to stay at a club, it’s their career and they don’t owe fans anything, but it’s hard not to feel an inclination towards this. It will be a farewell with my upmost gratitude but not my best wishes for the future.
