Eze to spurs?

Exactly. There's no point replacing Eze with a player who's ready to hit the ground running. The strategy is surely to strengthen the squad when selling such a player as Eze. This means that we'll have to go with Devenny, Esse or one of the new players who would be brought in with the proceeds (possibly El Khannouss).

Yes, it means that we probably won't be as good up front as we have been to start with and it will take time with this strategy to build a quality first team Squad that will move us further up the league but we just have to be patient.

It will be interesting to see how many players we bring in with the Eze money. Like you, I'm hoping for 3.
Three would be great. Can’t get excited about El Khannouss,. But if OG likes him I’d trust in that. Two or three in would give us options. Just like Olise, couldn’t be replaced like for like neither can Eze, so we will need to vary it a bit and a few extras will help that.

Do you regard a team that hasn't won its domestic league for 65 years a top club?
Well they are currently one of the richest clubs around since moving stadiums. With a good coach manager they can finish top 4 soon. With new owners and chairman they can be consistent up there and maybe achieve more. I’m sure he’d like to go to a more successful club but time and reality of who’s interested comes into play. Eze and Spurs both being inconsistent is an accurate observation.

David Ornstein has written on The Athletic that he's expected to start today which is a boost as think we'd have no chance against Chelsea without him.

Hopefully he can help us beat them and Forest next weekend and then leave, giving us enough time to get a replacement in.

Yes I’ve literally just had a sky sports notification that he’s starting. Definitely need our full strength team today

His body language will say a lot today. If he puts in a shift then hopefully it's just all click bait.

I think in an ideal world what we need is someone like Sosa. An experienced player who we can revitalise. What is becoming apparent this window is that young players with potential are going for silly money. The bargains may be found in players who are being pushed out. For instance, Sancho may go for less than £20 million to Roma (I know that is probably partly due to wages) while Hutchinson goes for nearly £40 million. Some clubs have bloated squads and need to move players on and that could be where we find the best deals. Of course, often there's a reason those players are being pushed out, so it's not easy.

With Eze now expected to start today, and after Richarlison's performance yesterday, I wonder if we might see Levy capitulating again. If this deal does fall apart I hope it doesn't affect Eze too much.

If they are so rich, clear the 300m back debt of owed transfer fees

I met a man last weekend when I was going to the CS and he said he was a manager at the hotel in Marylebone where Palace stay. He said Eze arrived 4 hours after all the other players and wasn't joining in with anything. I was sceptical until he showed me selfies with him and Ebbs and other photos. He said Ebbs did not look happy. Make of that what you will.
Could be anything. Could also believe it or not be a pack of lies

I'm hoping it's clickbait nonsense, I'd literally rather he went to any other club.

But if he's 'agitating a move', that puts him in the same category as Isak, and he can go f*** himself!
He isn't. Jeez, the hysteria on here! Media have been trying to flog him all summer. Arsenal have now dropped out so now they are saying its Spuds. He'll only go to Spurs if they pay £70m and I just dont see that happening

Despite needing the funds to strengthen elsewhere Parish has proved again and again that he will not do business unless its in Palace best interest. We are said to value Eze at £70m. I'd agree with that. If City want £35m for a completely unproven inexperienced Mactee the seems about right.
There has been so much media click bait rubbish written about Ebs this summer. One of the biggest being that 'he has agreed personal terms with Arsenal/Spurs. Firstly Eze wouldn't do that out of respect for Palace. Secondly its an illegal approach to discuss a contract with a player that is already contracted to another club. On this point I actually agreed with Marinakis when he slapped Spurs down over MGW.
I'm not saying he wont leave. All players leave eventually. But I'm comfortable with it. Parish will get good money and I feel sure he'll have players lined up to immediately move on.
I would be disappointed if he went to Spurs. In my opinion he is so much better than that but as someone else pointed out, once he leaves he will no longer be our concern. We'll all quickly start focussing on our own contracted player and start to forget him. Eze is not the be all and end all. We have Mateta, Wharton, Munoz, Sarr, Lacroix. Even Kamada is starting to show what he can do. Life goes on as it did when Ian Wright left, Chris Armstrong left, Andy Johnson left, etc, etc.

But right at this moment I dont really see anything but wishful thinking on Spurs side and quiet professionalism from Palaces. Which means I doubt a deal is imminent. Might happen, might not.
