Crystal Palace v Aston Villa Match Thread

The Villa Talk forum is entertaining. There are 92 pages on the game, naturally lots complaining that they could contrive to lose to a club like ours (short memories obviously).
They really don't like Konsa.

Just back in.
By the end most of the Villa had cleared off!
Hope Wharton is OK. He took a hell of a thump that made us take him off, but he seemed ok.
What a very pleasant surprise. Kamada, Mitchell, Nketia.....4-1.
Well done boys, you did us proud.
If we keep going like this, who knows where we will end up.
We are starting to play some really good football.
JPM and Sarr. Unstoppable.

Another great performance after a difficult start.

What a pity we were so ill prepared for the start of the season.

I have to say that funniest part of the game was the half time stand off between Pete the Eagle and Robin Olsen (surely any experienced pro knows not to piss off the mascots!)

And then, having 'won' the half time battle he had to start the second half in front of the Holmesdale End. Classic.

Boooo!

Compared to the Everton game when the marginal decisions went their way we were on the right side of 2 crucial ones - Richards been possibly off side for our first goal and then the offside for Villa's potential equaliser. It just makes a big difference to us is we play on the break or have to chase a game.
I also thought we did well not to get undone when Villa matched our formation rather than playing their 4 at the back at the start of the game when they had the better of the early play.
Having said that once we got in front we did not sit back and Munoz and Mitchell were still popping up in their 18 yard box. I think this is very positive going forward and showing the confidence that goes with the good run we are on.
Second haul of 20 points with Glasner being my assistant manager in the fantasy premier league
🙂

Great team performance….which undoubtedly will alert other clubs to both the excellent players and manager we have. I just prey that Parish sits down soon and ensures long term contracts are in place. We really can’t afford to lose too many of them (especially Glasner!).
