Crystal Palace v Aston Villa Match Thread

Finally got the 3 points at home again.
Wharton was mustard, it’s the lil quick split passes and intelligence he has, to what sets him apart.
I felt Lerma coming on helped us in a physicality mode.
Finally Eddie.. happy days.
And Hughes is suspended, but they said it was for millwall game and Ipswich game, so at least he’s only missing 1 league game.

Does VAR have to check every goal now?
They (PGMOL, commentators & pundits) seem to have a strange non-like of Palace.

I'm not saying that they flat out don't like us, but after 50+ years of listening to commentators and pundits, plus watching the way that officials and now VAR seem to so closely scrutinises us, but rarely favour us. I have come to the conclusion that they are just jealous of us and want to be like us.

Deep down they know they can't be like us and this is why they enter the world of football 'officialdom'. Once there, they get to fester, just waiting for their chance of wielding influence over us.

VAR gets to question everything we do, Match day officials see what they want, pundits get to say that it was close, or we got lucky there, etc.

Anyway back to the Whiskey...

Kamada gets Lerma booked because he couldn't control a throw in to his feet. The guy is shite
He always looks off the pace and rushing things, passing the ball to the opponent frequently and looking back rather than forward. He is also lightweight so gets knocked about. He must do ok in training because his game performances don’t convince.

If we could've picked two games for him to miss it would've been those. His not playing in the Millwall game might be a blessing in disguise if it gets feisty. Which is quite possible.

This is the twilight zone. As I was getting out of the shower on Sunday morning 4-1 came into my head.
So strong that I bet on it - only a fiver cos the site was having trouble with Nat West otherwise it'd have been £30. I chickened out and only bet we'd score four, instead of my 4-1 result. All I got from Vbet was 5 to 1.

Whatever, Palace are rocking Yahoooo!!!

Really professional performance. Knew when to press and when to sit back. In his post match interview Ollie said they talked about triggers to initiate press and the team did that well. Another master class of tactics by the boss and well executed by the team.

And to round off the evening the three players who get dogs abuse from a small minority here combine for the fourth goal. Well done them and shame on those who still managed to criticise Kamada.

Bloody hell ... we're a genuinely good side, and in 52 years of supporting this lot it ain't too often you can say that, last time was the mid 90s, Villa are decent and it could have gone the other way, that is a fabulous win and after the Fulham triumph I am in the words of Ken Dodd when receiving his OBE absolutely discomknockerated. Well done boys, well done Ollie. well done Selhurst. COYP! 👍 🙂😊😍
