Crystal Palace v Aston Villa - Match thread

100 per cent for effort lads but Pino why are you so poor? As for Mateta there is no hope I am afraid.

Should have Richards back after the Cup and hopefully Sarr from Afcon so we can get ourselves together
plus any new additions. Then we can start climbing back up the table.

Shame we act like nervy little boys in front of the goal mouth. Rather like most 16 year old boys in front of girls wanting to give it for the first time. And yeah..I was one of them..

We played well but just can’t slip it in.

Didn't see all of it but from what I did see we looked composed , the make shift right side done well , think once munoz and sarr are back we should start scoring , Mateta from what I see seemed a little more up beat with Johnson helping , so with sarr coming back will mean we have more pace , take the point and move on , there will be more confidence with the cover players as well ,

Mateta isn't having any luck at all - last year the pass from Johnson would've been straight in. This year it was inches too far in front of him.

With honours fairly even at half time, I dreaded seeing leaden legs getting found out in the last twenty minutes again. So for me seein Palace piling on pressure within this period was a huge plus. I thought it was a very creditable showing by a side which has played a lot of football over the last month with very few options on the bench. I'd still like to see Devenny offered a corner now and again but that'd my only moan.
