Christian Palace

Hitler was a Catholic, and Nazism was deeply interwoven with Norse Paganism and borrowed from numerous religious traditions. The NSDAP encouraged church attendance for it’s citizens and it was considered part of the Aryan ideal.
Hitler was not a chatolic. Well maybe he was, like we are made out to be in the west world. But are you really if you never go to church?

Where did you come up with that? The german werhmacht had "Gott mitt uns" ("God with Us") inscribed in their belts. Germany during ww2 was protestantic mostly but 93+% was protestantic/chatolic.The else was, well you know. The 0.1% fanatics trying to discover supernatural pagan things is just a myth? Or is it?

And yes. Why is this in Palace talk

He is recorded, in private conversations, as saying Christianity was an "absurdity" and "humbug" founded on "lies". His confessions would have been pretty lengthy if he had been a practicing Catholic - probably longer than Gerry Adams's.

There is (disputed) evidence for intelligent design. Just not evidence that makes its way into current mainstream textbooks.

Why on earth would we have to define 'intelligent' to debate the topic? Who set those rules?
Besides, any dictionary defines the word.
It is self-evident that the manipulation of dna would require very advanced knowledge and abilities. But humans are capable of it right now, so obviously it can be debated and is being debated.

You ask "Would such an idea not beg the question, who created the creator?" Well Richard Dawkins seems to think that is an intractable obstacle to further discussion.
Curiously, the same people who ask this are frequently the same people who give the Big Bang a free pass.
My view is that such questions are perhaps beyond the realms of understanding that humans are currently capable of. It is an argument dependent on an acceptance of time as linear.
Either way, it is not an argument that precludes intelligent design.
There is no evidence. .

There is the scientific method and then there is speculation. Anyone can speculate.

In order to discuss intelligent design, one needs to know what we are talking about.
Are we talking about God? Aliens? What?

Who gives the Big Bang a free pass? There is much debate about it all the time. It is one of the current and long standing theories about the formation of the universe, which has been cast into doubt by recent observations. That's how science works. It requires evidence.

Where is your evidence for intelligent design?

Jesus! This is a heavy debate for a Palace message board! Personally I’m a daoist. I believe the universe has a fundamental energy of which we are a small part and in a few years time (hopefully not too soon) when this ageing body packs in I shall return to the dao, be reconnected with the energy and be ready for my next adventure. Meantime I shall enjoy seeing Palace grow to b a Champions League club embracing players of all faiths and none.

Well the universe is certainly just forms of energy in different states.

The question of consciousness continuing to exist once our physical bodies pass on is what occupies most minds. I see no evidence for it myself but I would certainly like to be wrong as the thought of being reunited with loved ones is a comfort.

However, I don't believe the universe, whatever the nature of it is, has anything to do with 'feelings'.

I think the best we can do is try to leave things better for our part genetic representatives who come after us as I think that's how we live on.

I wouldn't count on the redevelopment of the Main Stand being one of those 'things'.
