Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Was it in 2005 that uefa changed the rules to allow Liverpool to enter the champions league even this they finished outside the top 4?
Not to mention when Palace qualified for Europe only to be kicked out to allow Liverpool to compete, even though their ‘fans’ rioting at Heysel had got English clubs kicked out of Europe in the first place! Wrighty always says that was why he agreed to join Arsenal and that if Palace had played in Europe he would have stayed. The potential damage to the squad this time round is huge and the loss of earnings if we are relegated from the Premier League together with potential qualification for the CL should be firmly laid at UEFA’s door by the club.

What if Textor can persuade one of the Americans to vote his way on something? Are Uefa expected to take our word for it that Harris & Blitzer will always side with Parish.

The easiest way out of this impasse is for Parish to relinquish his demand for a golden share which will allow Textor to sell his shares as no-one will want to buy them with the current restrictions
Its irrelevant who 'sides' with Textor. The point is he himself has only 25% voting rights.
So you think if Textor persuades Harris to vote for better quality toilet paper in the ladies toilets UEFA are going to see that as too big an influence? Utter rubbish. Harris, Blitzer and Parish have their own voting rights. Its their prerogative whether they choose to agree or disagree with a fellow shareholder. Textor has no power to influence any of them one way or another.

This is an interesting watch/listen.
There may be one or two factual errors, but on the whole I'm more confident that Palace will be able to compete in Europe.

Even if one or the other of H&B voted with him, that would still only split the vote 50/50, and Parish has the casting vote in this situation. Textor would need two of the other to vote with him - and that would simply be democratic, not a controlling interest.
Exactly. Voting for something that others agree with doesn't increase your influence. It just means on that one specific issue others agree.
Thats like saying if Textor voted to change the colour of Palace's home shirt and everyone else voted no that means he has no power at all! Of course he does.

He made it sound really straight forward. And its true, Real Madrid have made bigger mistakes than this and been helped out by UEFA. I honestly think if Palace are excluded they have a great case for suing UEFA. Something I'm sure is also in the back of the minds of UEFA officials too.

Franca, O'Brien, Glasner - make it look like we've far more of a connection than we really do.
I see what you're getting at, but, im not so sure. Franca came from Flamengo & not Botafogo, which Textor owns. Whether he did say to Dougie come over & have a look at this player, who knows. O'Brien was an academy player & didn't make a 1st team appearance as far as i know. Glasner was out of work when he came & yes it was Textor who wanted him, but, for Lyon. that didn't happen because OG can't speak French(allegedly).

I enjoyed this. Feeling much less nervous than a couple days ago.

At the end of the day we will be very lucky to stay in Europe, (i obviously hope we do) the rules were there, Parish should have known at the start of last season, never mind March, if we were allegeable, checked and changed to what is acceptable, and got it in writing, UEFA are not trying to do us over, it is our lack of finding out the rules, lets hope we can plead ignorance, and hope, if all solutions are to late, our naivety is staggering sometimes, bend the rules, but know which ones to bend

you are correct Eagle.

a. we broke the rules, through either ignorance or mismanagement.

b. we cannot go back, in time, and fix it

c. we are now hoping for a Waiver from a corrupt french Footballing outfit.

This all fills me with dread.

Here is one to throw into the ring, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, sole Owner of Nice, and 27.7% Shares in Man Utd, both played in the Europa League Last Season, the season they qualified, Nice finished 4th, Man U finished 8th

Its debatable that we have broken any rules. Palace and their legal advisors say no. UEFA are not disagreeing either. They are currently scrutinizing their own rules to see if there is a solution.
I'll say again, expecting Textor to place his shares in a blind trust when we are only in the 5th round of the FA cup and sit 12th is pretty ridiculous. He's a business man. Why should he give up control of his shares on the basis of something that might/might not happen? Especially when doing that would prohibit him from selling those shares which he is trying to do.
Palace have made mistakes in the past. Our chairman while he definitely cares deeply about the club is not perfect but on this issue? I honestly dont think anyone on Palace's side have done anything wrong.
If we look at City/Girona or Man U/Nice situations you can see that when comparing our situation with theres we shouldn't have any reason to be concerned.
And yes while we know there seems to be one rule for the 'big' clubs and another for the rest of us I'm sure UEFA are not stupid. Excluding Palace when they haven't excluded actual multi owned clubs leaves them open to a pretty big lawsuit.

We haven’t broken any rules yet, we just can’t compete in the same competition as Lyon, so they won’t let us enter. If we were allowed to start in the competition, then rules will have been broken.
I know it’s the same result either way, but I just don’t like us being frowned upon as some sort of rule breaking cheats

I dunno, I enjoyed how outraged a bunch of big flapping f*nnies got about us winning the FA Cup after Henderson's perfectly legitimate handball. I'd love to win the Europa League whilst flagrantly flouting a clear cut rule so I can watch another bunch of bed wetters complain on social media.

So you are another one on here that thinks Textor should have put his shares into a Blind Trust after we won our 4th round FA Cup tie. In February. That's ludicrous.

At the moment UEFA are investigating to what extent - if any - Palace have fallen foul of their rules. Rules which if you read them are open to subjective interpretation.

And who is the '' corrupt french Footballing outfit '' ?
