Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

The deadline was 1st March. The day we played Millwall. They changed the date this year as previously it was June, which gave the clubs that qualified last year time to sort it out. March 1 is unreasonable in my opinion, not even the league cup final had been played yet.

Maybe Palace thought they would be ok as Textor does not have overall control of the club which would, if proven, allow us and Lyon to take part in the EL

Having said that, would Textor have been willing to use the blind trust? He has , for the best part of the season, been trying to sell his shares which would have not been possible if they were locked away.

Anyway, this is really getting me down. I've been so happy and this is spoiling my joy.

Typical Palace I suppose . 🙁
I wouldn't get down and insist we all continue to enjoy the post Cup Final celebrations without getting drawn into this nonsense . We will be playing in the EL next season .

What amazes me about the rules is that in the Fifa club world cup , Liam Delap only signed for Chelsea this week but he can play in that competition even though it starts in the same month as he signed.
But Palace might not be able to play in Europe due to a March 1st deadline.
Talk about one rule for the so called bigger clubs.
I know one is Uefaand one is Fifa but it still stinks to me anyway
Bit I’m struggling with is that Lyon are still looking at potential relegation due to financial mis-management.

I haven’t seen anything to say otherwise - or the position resolved. If so why isn’t this being taken into account.?

On Parish - you’ve got to hope that he had this covered off - TBH I’m far from convinced - from a distance the whole strategic thing looks a mess..!! Typical Palace/Parish..!!

UEFA make me laugh - this is the same organisation that had Platini at the helm - yet now they’re trying to do us for breaching rules..!!

Whole thing stinks..!!

It's a mystery to me why posters are suggesting this is a made up story or a sign of some form of paranoia on the part of the fans.

The facts that at least Parish and Textor were at the meeting with the European authories is in the public domain.

Parish refused to comment afterwards but Textor indicated , when asked, that he would be prepared to sell his shares in Palace if this helped the situation.
Leaving aside the question of Textor's intentions/ motives this would indicate that there is an unresolved 'situation' with the authorities.

If a decision has been made as to Palace's participation at this stage, then it has not been announced.
To me it looks as if the authorities are not yet fully satisfied by the presentation by the club.
Either they are making more of their own enquiries, or Palace are being required to take certain actions or supply new compliant information to allow it to compete in Europe.

Simply because so much rubbish is made up these days. Scaremongering just to get reactions. It’s the modern world and it stinks. Nobody worry, their are no major issues if any at all.

It's very likely a political reason , that can be smoothed over by way of a bank transfer.

Andy Goldstein, the plastic Utd fan is one of the biggest twats on the radio. He used to mock Roys speech impediment on air. If this was Utd he would be crying about how unfair it was. Doesn’t Ratcliffe have shares in a club who were in the Europa league at the same time as Utd?
Now I have actually seen him he even
Looks like a t***
Can’t stand Goldstein. Bang on if it was United he would be other way. Just a shock jock and waste of space

There’s no legal framework in place. Some in football were already pointing to how “this never happens to the big clubs”. Others have referenced how Parish worked with the Union of European Clubs, a body casting itself as a voice for those clubs not represented by the European Club Association. Paris Saint-Germain’s Nasser Al-Khelaifi is, of course, the chair of the latter, who has been locked in a number of battles with Textor in France.

It is ultimately galling that Palace may miss out because they didn’t meet the March deadline to put the club in a blind trust, as Evangelos Marinakis did with Nottingham Forest to avoid a similar clash with his Olympiakos.

There is still hope. Uefa might come down on Palace’s side, given the pressure, given the sense of romance.

Fans didn’t want this. Only a certain type of investor wants it.

Multi-club ownership goes against everything football should be, to the point it might somehow sour one of football’s great modern stories.

Top cutting and pasting !

The article in the Independent pointed out that FIFA / UEFA have never defined what multi club ownership is. The idea that palace shareholders would have to be put into a blind trust by March 1st is ridiculous and far too early in the season.

If it goes against us I think that if we took them to CAS we would have a good case.

FIFA and UEFA need to clarify their rules so clubs know where they stand.

UEFA are leaving the decision late for a reason. Any appeal would be rendered pointless, as the competition would be starting before it could be heard.

That's why I think it's not good news. Because they could have reached a decision when Parish and Textor visited. So I think we're out. 🙁

But, it could also give CPFC a breathing space to raise funds. Just Giving page anyone ? 😀

Or another way to look at it ishopefully they are giving Textor a chance to sell his shares, maybe to Harris and Blitzer as it was reported he was trying to do earlier this year.

If we get in great, if we don't, forget it, we are still cup winners, keep all the players we can, invest wisely on new players, and make sure we finish in the Champions League spots next season, if we keep most of the players, and replace the ones that leave with quality, there is no reason why this cant happen.

Then Maybe Textor is now over-valuing his shares, based on the fact he'd be holding the club to ransom, over a big European payday.
