Glasner Out

Glasner is leaving A few of our top rated players have eyes on moving on.

No pride and no passion. Let Glasner go now and appoint someone who cares and gives them a bit of time this window the rejuvenate the side.

I'm off to Bromley (glory hunter as they are top of the league.....).

Just looking at our fixtures. Sunderland away followed by Chelsea home, Forest away and then the Weed. Can’t see us beating Sunderland or Chelsea and Forest will be tough. Looks to me like the Brighton game could be crunch time for OG. Fail to get results in the run up to that and lose to Brighton and I think OG’s position will be untenable and the board will have to act.
Why would the board need to act when his contract is running out in June and have to compensate him for months of dismissal? He will be here until then unless someone truly outstanding becomes available or he goes on strike (following the Maresca/Amorim playbook) or gets bought out.

I cant stand all the absurd short-termism of modern times. I'm not letting the anger of today cloud judgment. We are 5 points off 5th place and in Europe and all the Glasner out crew should look at the complete disunity and disarray after Moyes got the shove. We have to learn from the mistakes since November. It seems we rely heavily on too few creative players and are too timid to outmuscle opponents at set-pieces and are getting bullied. We need a strong Captain lined up when MG goes.

Slump yes but full-on Titanic moment, no.

Just saying the pressure will be very high. If he isn’t going to be here then there could be merit in bringing in a new person and planning ahead.

Arguably OG is the one being short term allegedly wanting out after two full seasons. Like it or not it is a results business an an extended period of poor results will put any manager under pressure

It’s not just today. That was just the icing on a shitty cake called December/January. The results have been terrible. Let’s be honest if any other manager had this set of results they would be under real pressure.

Ollie rightly has credit in the bank but he is spending it fast. It’s not just the lack of results but he really has become a bit of a dick in interviews, a bit pep. Last year he came across as a decent human, now he comes across like he’s doing us a favour.

He has a complete block to changing the way we play. Other managers must know exactly what we are going to do and nobody in the team steps up and does something different to create and win a game.

I’ve loved last year, it was utterly amazing but this what we are seeing now is just awful.

As I said earlier. Sign up and commit or thanks for the memories…

If any great player is to throw a wobbly, they’ll be of no use to any team on the pitch.

I’m only suggesting it as a possibility, but if Glasner is throwing one this season then that would explain why we’re seeing the performances and results that we are. Thats not discounting us failing to replace quality and/or bolster numbers.

Either way, the board needs to act by either signing players or getting a manager in who’ll deal with our mess of a squad more effectively than Glasner, or the man himself needs to improve things for his own sake if not our own. His stock will be severely lower if this continues, if it isn’t already.

Some people are saying ‘slump’ but it’s been worse than that. We’re seeing the same issues week after week, game after game, with no resolution. Today is so shambolic it’s hard to even find it too embarrassing. Beyond a joke.

Stuff it. We're out of the cup. Who we lost to is a side issue in the grand scheme of things and at least our exhausted players can put their feet up for a few games.

The whole situation of OG signing a new contract or not is ruining his legacy. I don’t believe he is under pressure as he has credit in the bank. However had he not won the FA cup and Charity shield that may not have been the case!
When you consider the start to last season and now this period of demise, without the trophies I’m sure almost all the supporters would be calling for change.

The big problem I have with today’s results is the total lack of professionalism from all involved. I agree that OG got it wrong tactically and I didn’t like his press conference after pretty much blaming the players and saying they shouldn’t have needed tactics. Well they clearly did and they were wrong.
But I also have got some sympathy, because no matter what players he selected, they should all have been better than their opposite number, and I do include the kids. The biggest issue was a clear lack of desire and also lack of respect for Macclesfield.
What that game showed me was that everyone involved has got too big for their boots and need to have a long hard look at themselves. Furthermore it is clear that we do not have leaders, and I do include Marc in that.

Leadership is a real issue for us. Nobody gets hold of things and as soon as we go behind in games our heads drop. We are a soft touch. As others have said we miss a Joel Ward or James McArthur type in terms of attitude.

Very interesting and valid comment Guehi is off and so as a leader is probably a bit of a busted flush. Whatever happens he won't be here next season to.pick up the pieces.

But who else?.

Not seeing any passion across the team

Munoz is a fighter but not sure who else is. Maybe Hughes

For balance I love Glasner and with a full squad the system really works.
I don’t think the situation around Glasner and Guehi are anybody’s fault other than the hierarchy - we seem very reactive not proactive in safeguarding ourselves against these silly situations we find ourselves in. Dare I say at times seems very amateur for a premier league club.

For me Ollies rigid structure and reluctance to integrate and trust younger players is a problem given that’s how we as a club like to work.

The issue today wasn’t the 3 players dragged at half time but the more senior pro’s. You can’t help but feel that their removal at half time will damage confidence and all were in my opinion playing quite well.

For me OG can not separate himself in this, in that I mean he can’t take all the plaudits and subsequent job offers coming his way off of the good times and be completely removed from blame on days like today.

Too often managers are sat on pedestals and whilst I continue to hold OG in the highest regard. I’d like to see a little more accountability from him and with that an end to the speculation.

But in true palace style I’d imagine this will all turn into another chaotic circus. At this point it’s great we poss need 4 more wins to be safe.

Sadly I think lack of ambition and being a smaller prem club will mean we start a new cycle under new management sooner rather than later. I think we are looking at a future without OG and Guehi.

We thank them for the memories and are entitled as fans to ask why when we had momentum and the biggest purple patch we’ve ever had in the top flight did we choose to stand still and not back the manager and make a real go to get to that next level.

On balance hard not to be pleased for Macclesfield. Also so palace that the comp we win to break a club record should be the same comp we break a comp record for being on the wrong side of the biggest giant killing .

But a stark reminder for us why we all follow the palace. So let’s not become too entitled remember who we are and strap ourselves in for even more madness!!

Marc is a world class defender, but for me he has never been a strong leader.
You don’t have to scream and shout to be a good leader, but maybe because he is so calm he doesn’t show passion.
I want my captain to be in the Jedinak mould.

I think everyone needs a good night's sleep.

Don't forget to change your knickers.
