Your first Palace game live?

I was born in 1943 and my earliest memories are of Palace playing the third division south and later the fourth division. My first game would have been in about 1948 with my dad and uncle but can't remember who we played. Very fond memories of seeing Johnny Byrne play and watching his debut for England at Wembley, as the first division 4 player to be selected. Have been a lifelong Palace fan but now can only watch on tv as I live in the Caribbean.

First game was season 1969/70. Home game against london side (West Ham/ Chelsea/arsenal?). Lost 4-1 or 5-1 like we did a few times at home derbies that year. I just loved it. Felt like “my place”. And then saw 4/5 other games w dad and bruv topped off by home 1-0 victory vs Man City to make sure we stayed up on last day of season. Just returned as season ticket holder last season for first year since 1979/80. Still love the place. And most of the away matches for past 1.5 seasons which involve travel from Manchester where I live now
Mine was late Dec 69 against Chelsea as a belated birthday present and we were thumped 1-5 (apparently) Don't remember anything about the match itself. My only recollections were than my dad and I couldn't get in the Holmesdale as it was full, but got in the Whitehorse. spent the game on his shoulders just mesmerized by the sights and sounds of the crowd. I was absolutely hooked and badgered my dad to take me to every home game after that. He did, we stood on the Holmesdale and I fell in love with Selhurst Park
