Yeremy Pino

Do EU nationality players now need a visa to play play in the Premier League? Wondering if the club will need to de-claret.

Yes they do since Brexit.

He will meet all the requirements no problem and the clubs etc will find ways around it anyway for some of them.

Yes, up to £26m sounds like it might be £20m fixed fee plus bonuses - that is a decent price given his track record but no doubt partially due to previous injury

Everything crossed for the medical

That's my concern. He is an absolute steal at that price but a torn ACL is a major injury. This signing could be a bit of a gamble!

He played at the end of the 23/24 season and all of last season. Also two summer breaks in there. It would suggest his major injury is behind him and he's back to100%. It doesn't concern me too much.

The key for us is to ensure we have enough depth in attacking positions as injuries are inevitable. If we can get Pino plus one more I think we'll be ok. Esse will gradually improve over the season if given game time.

EU players are treated the same as players from any other country in the world. So they need to pass criteria to get a work visa. Usually to do with number of internationals etc so these work immigrants are not classed as stealing jobs from other UK citizens. Not sure footballer is on the critical jobs list but if you have the money you can migrate to any country in the world and bypass the rules that stop the rest of us moving to the US, Australia, the EU or wherever.

Actual they are not classed as the same they come under International Sports Person Visa.

Not all countries are treated the same.

What i mean by bypass would be some of the criteria like the to time it takes to be granted the visa and they will find ways of people passing knowledge tests etc

Pino, has been a seriously good player, hopefully still is . Just wonder why his club have let him go for the sort of fee we are paying. People say we can’t replace Eze, but if this boy retains his past form he will get close.

He is a youngster should be alright for a few more years!

He won’t sign a new contract with them and only has 2 years left on contract.

Why is our transfer 'activity' always so tortuous? Chelsea, Liverpool, Citeh buy players at will. Of course, they have much more money than Palace, but even given that we prefer to shop in Aldi rather than Waitrose, so to speak, it's still painful.
1. We identify a target.
2. West Ham buys him.
3. We agree a fee with a club.
4. We agree terms with the player.
5. The medical takes four days and still fails to screen the likes of Ferguson and Franca.
6. In the last twenty four hours of the window we try to sign two players on loan...

No wonder Glasner, probably our best signings ever, is peed off. He won't put up with this nonsense for long.

It's pretty easy. Most clubs pay +10m for a player they want. We never do. But this summer has been extra crazy. Mediocre players going for 30-50m+ Thats is just madness and not something we should do.
