Wilfried Zaha return

Who said no one else contributed? For us that go regularly, Wilf was a very important part of the team and when we played to his strengths he was, at time, unplayable. You have always had a downer on him, but I think you are making yourself look a bit silly imo.
As an aside season 20/21 he scored 14 league goals and 1 cup goal = 15 in a season

The claims was he is the reason we stayed up.

Remove the rose tinted specs.

I am realist people like you make out he was something super special when he was not (I sad it before he had so much potential only achieving 50% of it mostly due to his attitude)

If he was such a top player he would have shown it at other clubs look at Olise already & even Murray.

You are the one every time you post looking silly.

He scored 14 in the league yes so what a season is classed as the league cup goals are separate and wow 1 goal in that. (If you want to be selective we can start looking at minutes played ratio to goals Wilfs stinks)

Benteke one season scored more goals in league yet people attack him.

Yes wilf on his own didn’t keep us up but as some are saying about olise; that one player makes a huge difference. The same has been said about Johnstone in goal or dec. in midfield or lately Anderson in defence. Albeit all of these players make a difference but I do believe wilf was different gravy in our performances.

You are repeating the same old BS the media do.

1 man does not make a team.

PZ Eagle is spot on Cabaye who was not in his prime was very important & people must have forgotten that man named Murray who scored 7 out of 17 games in one season.

But Im wrong it's all Wilf no one else contributed

@eritheagle When did he score 15 goals in a season never you do not even know the proper stats.

His highest was 14 with only 1 assist (half of those was penalties)

To criticise Zaha for his faults without recognising his importance to our Premier status is simply deluded.
I am certain we would have been relegated without his goals and attacking threat.

With no Zaha and no Olise we look average at best, even with Eze.

I seem to recall being under the impression that the sum total of our attacking strategy was 'give it to Wilf and hope for the best' or genuinely struggling to identify even a theory as to where we'd score from when he was absent, for numerous seasons. We were also perennially in the 'relegation battle' conversation, if we are not still now.

Olise is a huge loss but still not quite the same for me.

Wilf was/is riddled with flaws, that's not in question, but I do find the dilution of his importance to us by any fans baffling, if nothing else. It's real 'alternate reality' stuff for me!

Some fans just have a regular pattern of being clueless. 😉🙂

So far this season we haven't scored many goals. Even the winner against QPR was a big deflection. Mateta's first against Leicester was, shall we say, controversial and while I maintain this dearth is down to lack of service I think even the most critical of Zaha cannot deny he was capable of finding the net through his own efforts.

Until Sarr can reveal his talents (it might help if he was allowed to start a match) then I would be happy if Zaha returned for a season on loan. He achieved his ambition of playing in Europe with Galatasary, made a lot of cash, and can continue in the minor Europa league with Lyon but family matters may make him think it wasn't such a good idea to disrupt his kid's education.

Zaha has got his faults, but he has been a loyal servant to the club I think he is a palace legend, he wanted to try champions league football he wanted to push further in his career has it worked out no it hasn’t, so what if he has lost a yard of pace still a very tricky player he has had his off seasons and yes he does like to have his tantrums and perhaps that’s what we need a player that can push the team

Maybe the realisation that he made his mistakes will make him a better overall player and more of a team player if he was to return I certainly wouldn’t say no at this point.

Palace would definitely bring the best out of him.

Didn't even play in Lyon's Europa league match. Unused substitute.

Seems to have fallen pretty far in the last year and a bit.

I watched a chunk of that game and I know Rangers are a bit s***, but Wilf will do well to get in that Lyon team, they looked really lively going forward

Numerous reports saying he is already having a nightmare at Lyon, out of favour, failed to turn up for training, family allegedly not settled and unhappy with his accommodation. Not even in the squad for Sundays game against Le Havre.

I wonder if Parish has been in touch with him. It could be Wilf's last chance to play in the PL.
He's 32 but that's younger than Welbeck and Vardy and if he were to get back in A1 shape he could be an asset.
As I said in previous post, he'd have to be realistic about his salary and lose the attitude.

I get the feeling he needs Palace and Palace needs help.

Parish is friends with him so yes I expect they have been in touch with each other (speaking of coming back to Palace no)

He chose to leave that is his problem Palace offered him a deal he declined it and no other Prem team was interested in him.

Welback & Vardy are different players who have achieved things plus have a far better attitude something Wilf will not change.

Palace doesnt need him he needs Palace.

Every other club he has gone to he has had issues it sums up he is the problem. (It has been confirmed by others hes difficult)
