Wilfried Zaha return

Parish is friends with him so yes I expect they have been in touch with each other (speaking of coming back to Palace no)

He chose to leave that is his problem Palace offered him a deal he declined it and no other Prem team was interested in him.

Welback & Vardy are different players who have achieved things plus have a far better attitude something Wilf will not change.

Palace doesnt need him he needs Palace.

Every other club he has gone to he has had issues it sums up he is the problem. (It has been confirmed by others hes difficult)
I think you're probably right. As I mentioned, he needs to be realistic about money and lose the attitude, neither of which is likely.

That he 'needs ' Palace and could prove to be key stone in recovery is good enough for me. He knows that his wages won't be as high as before and that he has crossed the zenith of his career yet Lyon is not Palace and we are nowhere near to Europe status. January window and who really wants to come to a struggling, relegation fodder Prem. team? Zaha though has Palace running through his veins.

I would have him back in a heartbeat. Loan in Jan please (if that's possible)
Imagine the galvanising influence he would have as Captain Palace behind the scenes alone... he has flown from the nest and one believes that deep down , he knows where he truly belongs and what future he could build fundamentally around HIS club, Palace. He needed to spread his wings to ascertain wider worth etc .

Would rather we just moved on. Since he left us he has drifted and is not worth the huge wages he would seek and sadly Parish might offer him.

He would also face a huge tax bill.

We have moved on.

I firmly believe some players fit in at certain clubs and when they moved to other clubs it just doesn't work so yes i do believe Zaha falls into this category.

Would be great off the bench and would lift the place 👍

This for me is the perfect riposte.

There is far more that occurs from former but proven talisman and Club legend beyond what goes on the pitch for starters. Put ALL the pieces together in the jigsaw?

He certainly has a lot of character but captain material he is not. Surly and mumbling, I personally couldn't be motivated by him, at least not off the pitch, and I don't see anybody else being so.

I think there are two impediments to Zaha returning this season.

1. Isn't there are restriction on how many time a season a player can register with a different club?

- Does this include or excludes loans?
- Does the recent court judgement on transfers mean that this no longer applies?

2. He still has the tax issue so I assume that if he comes back to the UK before April he will be liable?

Returning players are never able to produce what they did before they left. I remember A Johnson returning, a shadow of his former prowess, there are many other examples.

Old players are slower and injury prone, best to just have the memories.

I think that "never able to produce what they did before they left " is going a bit too far. Sean Derry is a definite exception to that and maybe Nathaniel Clyne.

For the right wage package, I would love to have him back and be glad for Palace to take the risk.

Bit like ex girlfriends - if memory serves.

Dougie Freedman and Clinton Morrison were pretty good too.

I’d take Wilf in a heartbeat.
