This is the list I currently have going into next season with players that i feel will be involved in and around our first team. This is clearly going to change before the season starts with player sales, loan moves etc. We need to replace Chilwell & Turner (i don't think we should block Goodman & Whitworth from loan moves higher up the EFL to keep them on our bench after their brilliant seasons)

I always thought Ahamada left at the end of last season. Clearly I was wrong. When was his last competitive match?

You have left out Adaramola in the LWB/LB position.
 
What we need is for Danny Imray to make first team appearances this season, not only lifting some of the pressure off of Danny Munoz and the added fixtures, but for Imray to learn from him too.

He went on loan to Rennes but has only played 55 minutes over three substitute appearances unfortunately. When that last appearance was is unknown.

If we were linked with signing someone who is nearly 22 and whose total professional career is one good season in League Two, I'm pretty sure most fans would be asking what on earth we're doing and certainly no one would be expecting the player to come in make an impact in the PL.

But because we already own him, everyone seems to think that is what will happen? I don't get it.

Imray should be looking for a Championship club loan next season. We have already seen how JRS shone in League 1 but has been average in the Championship, its a big step up in quality. Not saying that Imray wont make it but I don't see him figuring next season.
 
In the unlikely event that none of the key players from this season leave, I still think we'd need 3-4 additions; cover at wing back, at least one centre-half and a creative option to compete with Eze and Sarr.

Under the assumption that 2 or 3 key players go, I think that's more like 5 or 6 additions.

Cover for both wing-back roles seems a no-brainer. I think expecting either of Imray or Adaramola to develop so steeply at this stage is a real long shot, and even if the staff do fancy having a look at them, I still think we need more reliable cover. I think Umeh and Kporha are more likely to be the academy depth for the wing back roles.

Chilwell is on huge wages and looked incredibly average to me. I'd much rather see us re-visit our interest for someone like Diouf - more room to develop, cheaper and a more appropriate understudy to Mitchell.

Walker-Peters seems an absolute no brainer.

I think Chalobah is expensive and not that impressive - I think we could find better value in the CB market, particularly if we are not buying with an immediate need for contribution.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if our rumoured interest in Matheus Fernandes from Southampton is true - fits our recruitment model really well and provides the creative competition for Eze/Sarr.

I also think James Mcatee is a great fit for us if City are open to selling.

Combined with that, I just don't think he's as good a fit in Glasner's system as he was in Vieira's, where he very much operated as a lone six at the base of a midfield 3.

The two central midfielders under Glasner have to be much more dynamic and know when to support the forwards in the press, which I think Doucoure struggles with.

His more natural game is to sit in the centre-circle breaking up play and moving the ball on, but we don't set up as such anymore.

maybe championship is too big a step up for him.

I know Wycombe tried to buy him in Jan (£750k was mentioned), so that seems a potential loan option in Div 1 for next season.

Hopefully he can get some pre season game time next season to show Glasner what he can offer.

Wasn't he bought as a box->box midfielder, i.e. played there at his last club? then Vieira only used him as a DM ?

I think the move to League 2 was either a mistake or indicates what the club values him at. He did well so someone will probably offer something for him - assuming his contract has not run out. The positive of him staying is that he is free, would be on say 10,000 a week and is a natural wing-back

100% agree. Its always a good way to look at these.

And when you put it like that, its ludicrous to think he's ready to play understudy
