Wharton

Did he pick it up at the Euro's? Could explain why he didn't see a minute there when his skillset was what England was clearly missing

No he had it before.

People have hernias for a long time even decades and do not even know it

In his case he was experiencing a lot of pain and they still kept playing him (That is very poor from the club)

The problem is as well he is young and this is an issue which for the rest of his career he will have to keep going in for multi surgeries over time.

I wonder if he is still experiencing pain another thing he may have to manage for the rest of his life now.

Another one that thinks he knows better than the medical staff or the coaching staff.
When the player, the specialist, the medical staff are all agreed the injury may not even need surgery and could clear up with rest what are you suggesting they should have done? Give him an operation anyway?
No one was to know his injury would become more uncomfortable or worsten at that time. If I were OG I think I'd personally have preferred to listen to the specialist's advise as well as the medical team at the club rather than ring you up and get your views. Then again, back then you'd probably have been in agreement with them and said the same anyway. Hindsight is a powerful 'I told you so weapon' wouldn't you agree.
All any coach can do in a situation like this is follow the advice of the experts. That is exactly what Palace coaches have done with Wharton from day one. None of us are mind readers. No one could know his recovery would have complications and throwing blame around doesn't really achieve a single thing.
At what point have I alluded that I know better you numpty. I simply made a reference that there was no way it was getting better was it. You don’t have a car that’s not running right and then take it for flat out run down to Devon and back do you, you get the car serviced first just in case the problem really gets bad. Or are you one of those that thought it was great when Olise was given 5 minutes before breaking down and being out for weeks again… on the ok from the same medical staff that let Wharton carry on playing. Honestly you people.🙄

You wrote that post as if you know more than EVERYONE. And as for the numpty name calling, children reduce to that when they have no argument. Your car analogy is pathetic. Has nothing to do with Wharton's situation. If you know anything about it you'll know he returned from the Euros with a 'very minor' issue in his groin. One which he felt more than capable of continuing to play with. The club sent him to a specialist (who I think knows a bit more about it than you) and agreed it was minor at the time and that with a carefully planned schedule where he got enough rest it might even right itself. The Palace medical staff as well as the coaching staff deferred to the Specialist (clue's in the name) and while they tried to ensure he got enough rest in between games it slowly got worse. At that point the club decided an operation was probably for the best.
Since then this operation has proven unsuccessful. Wharton still experiences pain and discomfort and his return date is still unknown so your little theory that giving him an operation immediately and stop playing (despite the specialist advising at the time an operation was not nesessary) earlier in the season wouldn't have worked either would it?
You silly goose

Ok Doc. I didn’t realise you had the ear of the medical staff at Palace.

Love your work x
