West Ham Match Thread

He is currently deep in conversation with a learned gentleman, as to how he has so much information and statistics at his 'fingertips' , yet cannot predict a win for the team he (allegedly) supports.
I have been an avid supporter since the 60s.
I was certainly not confident that we would add to our points tally. I am of course thoroughly delighted with the victory. I will raise a glass in celebration tonight !👍👍

I agree with comments that said “well done Palace and particularly Mateta” but JPM must really work on his penalties. He’s had a few where you think “crikey that was lucky to go in”. If he doesn’t improve it will slap us on the ar*e next time he steps up as he seems to hit it right in the ‘save’ area.
After this one I imagine Eze will be on pens for the next game at least.

He hit it really soft, vaguely near the right corner, Fabianski should have saved it but it squeezed under his knee somehow. Hugely, hugely lucky.

Haha. I’m such a nervous wreck at football I’m glad I missed it!

I think for the sake of consistency/confidence/morale I’d keep JPM on them however Ebz would be my choice, were it up to me

I didn't see the game and couldn't listen to it 😔 but I'm very impressed with the two clean sheets this week especially with Richards stepping into the side.

I really really hope we back Glasner we will never have a better manager. Back him before spurs come calling 😬

Looks like they are going to match us up with a back 3 with Cresswell on the left of a back 3 and Emerson pushed forward as LWB, with AWB as RWB on.the other side.
Looks like in the absence of a centre forward they will play a fluid forward line of Paqueta and Kudos.

A masterstroke by Potter, making our back 3 largely redundant as they will have nobody to mark?

Or a largely untroubled afternoon for our back 3 under no real pressure?

Should be interesting.
Well, that settles that. Not a masterstroke. More like cause of a stroke.

A very comfortable away win with a good team performance.

I was amazed how s*** West Ham were, not one shot on target to our seven.
It was comfortable but at 1-0 I said to my mate a couple of times, West Ham have got to have a spell of pressure surely, even after the sending off we couldn’t relax properly, but it just never came from West Ham

What a great set of results, at least for me.
A brilliant win for Palace to keep the good run going.

And to make it even better two poor results for Arsenal and Newcastle.

I despise their cheating ways, the antics of Howe and Arteta to corrupt how the game is played.
If their ploys backfire, hopefully it will discourage others from copying their methods.

Rant over.

Have a heart. They've only spent half a billion in the last 5 years.

Disagree with soft & agree should've been saved(ish). Who cares, we won.
I think a few of us are just saying Mateta doesn’t fill you with confidence when you watch where his penalties go. They’re invariably in a zone where the keeper should save them and if JPM doesn’t work on it, his success rate is bound to take a major tumble. An accident waiting to happen.

It’s about being proactive chaps. Seeing a potential problem and sorting it. I care about continuing to win.

Up the Palace and up Mateta.

Just seen the highlights. Blimey mateta very lucky with the penalty going in. As others have said he needs to work on it a bit. Keepers do their homework these days.
