Also, it's boring that I have to explain that requesting that someone talks to others doesn't stop someone's speech or punish them.....Unlike what you would support for others.

I see the EU is saying that Britain will not share in the expected defence spending bonanza as they ramp up spending to meet the Russian threat.

If Starmer had any guts he would tell the EU, fine then don't expect us to help you out with troops and weapons.

The EU politicians are talking utter fantasy land.....800 billion on defence is complete nonsense.

They don't have a pot to p1ss in and essentially they would have to print money to do it and it would push inflation through the roof.....people can't afford stuff as it is.

800 billion in reality would take 5-10 years.

And all that money jumps onto debt interest and.....Well, we are already fecked on debt payments.

EU talk complete nonsense.....they can't accept the stupidity of the situation they walked into.

They only have one track.....and that's to bet it all on red.

It's clear that Trump's team are going to negotiate a walk-away deal with Russia that will set limits and produce the best outcome for America personally economically......Trump is pulling out all the stops on every economic angle.

Looks like the black sea part of the deal will be reached after this 'energy' infrastructure ceasefire (the media instantly not understanding that what is and isn't considered energy targets being part of it)

Trump's team know that Ukraine/Europe will hate most of the aspects of these deals......When they get to territory most of all. I suspect the US will say, well we have agreed this much with Russia and will only back this agreement and they won't fund or support anything else.

Ukraine/Europe will then have to decide what they want to do.....Ukraine would only be losing more territory if they continued to fight and Europe have to decide if they are willing to pay the blood price for Ukraine....within US support.

If they decide on the blood price that 'coalition of the willing' probably reduces down to Britain, France and a couple more.
 
Europe's socially liberal leaders have been demonising nationalism for thirty years and importing foreigners and now are left with the ironic reality that they will need to conscript the people they raised to despise nationalism....because they can't even recruit enough to fill the places for the tiny military they have already.......they will turn to the types they despise the most, the white working class.....who they have tried to DEI out for the last ten years.

However asking white boys to fight for a system that puts them at the bottom makes you laugh.....and hardly any of their 'protected' classes will fight for a nation they are told discriminates against them.

Go fight for people who sneer at you and get your legs blown off so that later their human rights lawyers prosecute you for war crimes.

They literally made the mess they sit in.

Probably up there with the worst elites in our history.....As I've said, a cohort of plumbers could probably do better.

There are many definitions of nationalism so its use can embrace several different sentiments. It can be used, by some, in place of patriotism but it really isn’t identical.

One definition that represents a more negative connotation is:- “the doctrine that your national culture and interests are superior to any other”!

Whilst no one has demonised anything trying to distance ourselves from such a sentiment is entirely appropriate. Encouraging patriotism makes sense. Being proud is fine. Feeling you are superior is not.

We will see how things work out but I find the whole tone of the above comments both grossly inaccurate and offensive in nature. These constant attempts to divide us into segments determined by entirely arbitrary attributes, like skin colour or class, doesn’t help anyone. Much better to concentrate on what binds us and not try to divide us. Which is precisely what successive governments have been trying to do.

You can see it in the media, because they don't have the balls to come out with it publicly...too right as we'd get more tariffs.....so their get all their ideological friends to do it.

They are venting their ire at the Americans for, what for them is a heel turn, when they are the fools who left themselves wide open for this....most of history has shown that democracies aren't tolerant over long wars.....but these social liberals are never conservative on anything....they always bet it on red and then when it goes t1ts up they blame others. Just like Iraq, no plan to get out other than total victory. 2022 was the 'back of the net' opportunity and they couldn't help themselves.....all or nothing as usual.

Totally useless, and as they are rich it's always us plebs who have to pay the price for their group think incompetence.
 
I think one of the reasons Trump has decided on a gradual walk-away from Ukraine and this détente with Russia is to secure Russian acquiescence should he take military action against Iran....he left them a clear choice in that letter he sent them. He also wants Russian oil and hydrocarbons should strikes against Iran significantly disrupt global oil supply.

Donors matter.....they have more power than presidents.
 
I think we can all see how the escalation into potential oil/gas disruption is not only to avoid, but also to possibly prepare the way for the new world order, based on fossil fuel ownership.
Would action against Iran set a precedent for action against the Arabs and taking control of the Arabian oil fields ?
As long as China is OK burning coal, and the Indians are burning car old tyres, then that's the major players satisfied. 🙂

Like Europe's leaders he made bad decisions but he can't turn back.

As long as our lads aren't killed over there it's not our problem......but I don't trust our 'here today gone tomorrow' politicians.
