Aston Villa told matchday stewards they did not have to work at the club's fixture against Maccabi Tel Aviv next month, saying they understood some "may have concerns".

It's surely about looking to avoid dangerous situations occurring.

It obviously is about fans being Jewish. Plus an Ultras group who have a history of inflammatory behaviour. It obviously is about the match taking place in a large muslim community. To ignore those facts would be irresponsible. Like I said the easiest solution, as with many cases in football is to ban the away fans. It's not great but I can't see a better way of avoiding potential conflict.

What do you think is the best way to proceed to avoid any issues?

It's exactly what they wanted. All part of the long plan to take over yet another country
