As previously stated, Israel is Middle-East, not European, by any stretch of the imagination. Should be banned from Eurovision too.

I'd be surprised if they had problems with ajax fans or vice versa. Having been 8 or 9 times to see ajax in the 00's (and having a few tours of the ground) i know that they are proud of their jewish founders that built the club and chant the dutch word for "yid" during the games.

I heard today on the radio that people were bussed in from other parts of the netherlands to cause aggro.
 
5 maccabi people got jail sentences over their violence and a lot more were detained.

These people will probably be attending as it was a year ago.

The best way is simply to ban them on the grounds of public safety.

Whether or not the fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv instigate violence or attract it is irrelevant to the need for the police to keep the peace. At a time of high tension I can understand why it is felt necessary to avoid the possibility of fuses being lit.

That’s in no way anti semitism. It’s just common sense.

If the police believe they can handle cricket match rivalry at a time of political tension but not football rivalry then perhaps it’s the games, the times, and the way the crowds arrive and disperse that’s different. That’s for them to decide. Not us.

I was only describing Steeley. So was the petition started by the local MP was only raised due to concern regarding the violent Tel Aviv fans?

How many Pro Palestine protesters? Over 68 were arrested. If the WMP cannot police this match they are not fit for purpose. Call in other Forces, it was good enough to do for Epping and Brighton v Palace. This has nothing to do with the local Muslim MP has it!

Trouble is, I don't think I could face going to that particular suburb of Birmingham, which is very obviously a ghetto

I'm not sure about East London......if Cable Street is safe either. After the famous 'Battle' there in 1936, the sands have shifted under their feet. And the huge numbers of Irish lefties who fought alongside the Jews ? probably all gone over to Sinn Fein/Labour and now waving Palestine flags.


Mind you, the Tommy Robinson types are all fond of waving Israel flags. Certainly Oswald Moseley was a rampant AntiSemite.
