Villa v Maccabi

From what I read about the Amsterdam incidents, there was more than substantial input from the Jewish fans. And again they played the Jew-Hate card.
Perhaps the Birmingham communities felt it was an unwanted risk, by allowing some of the more violent away fans to the game.
Away fans always contain a more excitable selection of people.
Yes they were involved but the vast majority of the violence was directed towards the Israeli fans, unless of course, the Amsterdam authorities are wrong

I take your point. There may usually be a difference, but in this instance, it seems to be obviously a cultural/religious conflict, rather than being nationalistic, or club-related thing.
Any potential problems are very much between Muslims and Jews.
Certainly those have been the issues raised

Well it's club-related in the sense that Maccabi's fans have very recently shown themselves to be violent thugs.

Starmer needs to consult the West Midlands Police and understand their reasoning before rushing to judgement and assuming things!

That’s exactly what you, Yaxley-Lennon and everyone agreeing with him also need to do.

Allowing fans with a history of causing trouble to visit at a time of increased tension is a recipe for disaster. There are much better ways of opposing anti semitism than that. Statements in the programme and messages in the stadium that can be seen on TVs around the world would make much better points than fighting or police holding back groups.
A predictable response. A history of causing trouble! WTAF. Apart from Amsterdam where else have they caused trouble? Read what the Amsterdam authorities said about the violence and who the main perpetrators were. WMP have policed high risk games for years but this is the first time the local MP has instigated a petition to get fans banned, why is that?
Were there any petitions to stop India v Pakistan cricket going ahead in the UK? What’s the difference 🤔.
Still the resident Jew hater liked your response, must be nice to have support from someone with his views

There are extremists everywhere, I have been to Istanbul for example a few times and it was great. However, they have their share of psychos same as anywhere.

Away fans get banned all the time. That is not the issue here. The issue here is that the primary driving force behind this has been politicians. This decision is a political one. Makes it unique.
The safety certificate will be issued or not on the basis of a risk assessment I guess?

What would the reaction have been if away fans had been banned from Millwall home games because "the fans are mostly maniacs and it won't be safe".
Birmingham should consult Glasgow police. They're quite used to fans who don't see eye to eye.
Of course Villa v Birmingham is like a kindergarten match to police

The cricket that led to riots not involving any white people except police

Wisbech Eagle doing his usual jew hate drivel

They have actually played 5 away European fixtures since Amsterdam, couldn’t find any reports of violence. Perhaps they had something against Amsterdam or perhaps they were provoked.
Ha, so much for the jew hating CPFC Saturn fact checking, truth doesn't suit his narrative

Firstly, please stop describing those who oppose the current Israeli government as “Jew haters”. If that were true it would include a lot of Jewish people.

Whether or not the fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv instigate violence or attract it is irrelevant to the need for the police to keep the peace. At a time of high tension I can understand why it is felt necessary to avoid the possibility of fuses being lit.

That’s in no way anti semitism. It’s just common sense.

If the police believe they can handle cricket match rivalry at a time of political tension but not football rivalry then perhaps it’s the games, the times, and the way the crowds arrive and disperse that’s different. That’s for them to decide. Not us.
