Obviously!

The question is why! Not how!
Because the voters preferred Trump to Harris and preferred the policies of the Republican party to those of the Democrats and rejected the sorts of notions that the likes of you support.

More obviously voted for Trump than Harris!

That though is like saying today is Christmas Eve.

Why they did so is the question and thinking it was down to simple preferences is naive in the extreme. There was much more in play than that.

Really? Are you suggesting that they preferred Harris but voted for Trump?

Stating the obvious doesn’t begin to explain why.

You always though appear to want to accept the surface and not try to fathom out the depths.
Maybe there are no depths. As the saying goes "Sometimes Sigmund a cigar is just a cigar".
Several reasons have been given and rejected because they don't fit the agenda.

The Democrats all of a sudden appear to have an issue with oligarchy running government by complaining about Musk when they have just spent the last ten years being directed by Gates, Soros, Zuckerberg and Bezos and Wall Street.

They are pretending that billionaires and the donor class haven't been calling the shots in America since before my lifetime.

Biden was never fully in charge, probably less than most presidents and quite frankly they should drop the lying and pretence......it's a 'the only bad billionaires are the other side's billionaires' argument and treats the public like children.....the system is rigged and has always been rigged.

in 2020 the democrats held all the aces and by 2024 they were a busted flush.

4 years of focusing on the wrong things, 4 years of destroying their working class ideals, 4 years of deception (secure borders, Biden’s as sharp as a tack rhetoric etc etc).

The constant media led enablement actually hurt them in the end as people in their millions said enough is enough!

Going after people like Musk now will only lead to more tears down the line! This tactic seems as futile as playing Kanada every week!

Playing Canada at NFL is indeed a fruitless exploit.

In Syria, there have been reports of growing Christian and other religious minorities demonstrating in response to increasing attacks on minorities by Islamist groups and the burning of Christmas trees and desecration of churches.

The so called 'west'...well these low quality elites we have (social liberals with zero connection to their Christian past....and others) has backed what is essentially 'Islamic State' and thinks it can keep them sweet with cash and promises of not attacking them.

Well, I don't think they are actually that stupid.....they just don't care enough about Christians and others in the region other than virtue signalling over it.....when as in Gaza, it's their money that enables what happens to these people.

It's disgusting actually, our leaders fill me with revulsion.

This is total bs! The excuses of the right.

None of those mentioned “directed” the Democrats. That they donated to them was solely because they regard their social and economic policies to be better for their country than the way the Republicans have embraced Trump.

There was no direct involvement. No attempt to influence opinion in the way, for instance, that Murdoch does.

Compared to what Musk is now doing it’s nothing at all.

Oh there are depths involved here.

I don’t know whether what Musk is doing is all, or even part, of them but it seems probable to me. Things changed after he became active. I don’t know if even he knows what he is doing or whether he is doing it simply because he can and it’s just a game without any actual predetermined purpose.

This article is both illuminating and very worrying. The control of information and removal of responsible fact checking and editing is bringing us the post truth world.

Our own On-Line Information Act is a step in the right direction, even if it is detested by those on the right. It will probably be far too small a step taken far too late:-

Some conspiracy theories are apparently more valid than others.

Unfortunately true.

Which is why when they are being bombarded with misinformation and disinformation and encouraged to distrust trustworthy sources and trust untrustworthy one’s what so many are beholding bears little resemblance to reality.
Bit like your grammar and punctuation.

I suppose that’s an improvement!

If the only criticism you can offer is a pedantic ad hominem, then the substance has hit the mark.
You must have had a wonderful Christmas judging by the number of posts you made on here during the day.

So what will the Trump administration actually try to achieve?

Will what they ran on be what they actually try to implement?

I'm skeptical personally.....I think in reality that they will vastly lower the aims from the expectations of the campaign trail rhetoric.

When you look at what Trump would have to do to deport millions as he said, the tariffs that he spoke of, the Ukraine war, Iran, slashing government, security and intelligence overhauls......To do this he would have to be radical and upset and delete a huge number of the establishment and their systems.

I'm with his base's views that this is what is required......However, it means going to war with a lot of people and human nature teaches us that the path of least resistance is the one more commonly travelled.

Like many I fear I'm going to be disappointed.....even though compared to a Harris presidency it's like avoiding a disaster for just disappointment.

Trump has always been more mouth than trousers and I suspect that this presidency will resemble something like the 2016 one......He'll try to be liked again and he'll start to think of his legacy and not rock more boats than he has to.....whether he's going to be allowed to do that we shall see.

I don't think Trump's the one.....he'll come later when that path of least resistance isn't available anymore.

But one thing I can say about the Trump train, is that he broke the left's brain, and that if nothing else has been entertaining to watch.
