How did this happen is indeed the question. I don’t see it as a failure of the Democratic campaign at all. It was solid from start to finish, even if it started from a weak place. Harris bested Trump by a country mile in the debate. No, there is something else in play here.

Why people ignored Trump’s obvious corruption is the question that needs answering. The Dems ought to have won if they had fielded Mickey Mouse.

I played village cricket in England, then played in Australia. It was light years ahead of us. Plus sports clubs would have casinos, nightclubs, bars etc to get a decent hospitality income.
Alternatively, I was miles better than them at football - although not brilliant here, just average enough.
The main thing I remember is wondering where all the Elle MacPhersons were and barely ever wearing shoes. I lived in WA. It's a little bit different to the usual Sydney/Melbourne experience. And, yes, having to look under the toilet seat - until you just forget about it.

Take the unmoderated bluster and lies away from Trump and he cannot hold his own against any reasonable advocate. Harris was a very effective attorney and latterly a Senator.

Trump is just an unprincipled wind bag. A puppet whose strings are being pulled by some shadowy characters who have only their own interests at heart.

Yup. My sport is bowls and they are well ahead of us in this too. Our best players go there in the winter to play professionally, which is unheard of here. They make buckets of money from the bars and restaurants plus the “pokies”. It’s a different world.

In the fantasy that I were in charge of the country.....One of the first decisions I would make.....aside from giving Palace millions would be ensuring that we were better at cricket than the colonies....with beating our convicts naturally being the main aim.
