What about Jan-Niklas Beste? Had some insane stats at Heidenheim (24 goals and 28 assists in 2 seasons) before he moved to Benfica in the summer. Has made three appearances over there and apparently we're interested. Is there any truth to it?

We've just bid roughly £12.5 million for El Hadji Malick Diouf..... Attacking wing-back for Slavia Prague with 9 G/A in the league this year. Been rejected unfortunately. The record transfer for a player from the Czech league is £9 million so 2nd bid should work hopefully. Looks like we prefer him to Beste.

Like the sound of this. Know nothing about him other than the YouTube video I've just watched. Left footed and seems to get forward well. 20 years old and presumably would be on a low salary. Seems to fit the brief for our usual transfer profile.

I feel Mitchell has upped his game under Glasner, but if we're honest he's a LB, not a LWB. He's currently a weak link plus we have no cover for him. It's the position that needs strengthening the most. We'd be lethal with a 2nd Daniel Munoz down the left.

We also need a creative attacker. Eze seems a bit injury prone of late and we're blunt when he's off form. Kamada is struggling and I think the jury is still out on Sarr despite some recent form.

Let's face it, it's going to be Zinchenko as the LWB. Arsenal offloading another fourth-choice player in his position on us to become our highest earner. Dougie hoping it is 3rd time lucky after Holding and Nketiah

We haven't been linked to Zinchenko but that seems like a decent signing of we're not overpaying to be honest.

A clear commitment with the selling clubs /players or a clear commitment between Glasner and the club?

I suspect its the latter.

But lest be honest, although there isn't any official tapping up, clubs aren't bidding on players who wouldn't come etc

Its a good confident statement, and shows good harmony/trust with OG and the management team

From the bids reported in the press, is it safe to assume that the 2 players in question are Diouf and Doak?

Both fit the age profile, 20 and 19 respectively. Both playing senior football. Both called up to national teams.
