Sunderland Predictions.

I believe such an outcome is highly unlikely.
We have a striker who it is reported has a knee issue and has only scored 1 goal from 'Open Play' in his last 15 games. We have Pino who has flattered to deceive and makes little impacts in games.
We have no adequate cover for Munoz at right-wing back and offer nothing offensively from out on the right. We have Mitchell who whilst defensively capable does not provide a threat when coming forward down the left.
We have been vulnerable at set-pieces game on game.
One cannot construct a case for a positive outcome at Sunderland who are unbeaten at home where they are encouraged vociferously by a 46,000 crowd.
You make a very convincing case for a Palace defeat. I was going to offer my hope for a draw - but now feel that anything less that a 3-0 loss will be almost acceptable, !

I'm a bit less negative than others.
We should be back to full strength other than at RWB where I imagine Devenny will slot in again.
Sarr will be missing, but Johnson has been signed and can play that role.
The team has been out of form, but that has to turn at some time.
Sunderland impressed me at Selhurst as a resolute, hardworking team with good central defenders.
Being at home, they may attack more leaving gaps for us to exploit.
A draw would be my prediction.

We are in a precarious position, in the 'Merde' and on a cresta run of a decent down the PL table.
We are in 'Pitchy seas', holed below the waterline, glug, glug, glug.
👎👎👎
Willo you a go on like sunderland this all winning all scoring machine , they have only won twice in the lge since the 1st of novenber we have 4 wins they have scored 1 goal less than us in the lge , only thing about them there hard to beat , so the match has draw all over it , thats my bet for saturday anyway, so youve been going down the pub instead of doing your home work again 🤣

Indeed I enjoy a tipple down a 'Public House' where on occasions sobriety is not on the agenda !
I based my assessment on Sunderland's unbeaten Home record and our current run of results.
In the circumstances I would be content with a share of the spoils.

I was surprised when I checked . sometimes the facts dont match the picture , when one does partake in another tipple have one on me 🙂

Like us, they made a strong start to the season but struggled for wins over the festive period, probably due to so many players being at AFCON. This will be the first time in ages that Glasner will have plenty of time on the training pitch to try and fix some of our issues, so I'm a little more confident. I also always think we're at our most dangerous when Willo digs deep for synonyms for defeat. 1-2 to us. A BJ special to cheer us all up.

What I’d give for a BJ special. Those were the days!

The Mackems are alright. And we will field the same team as that last game (which I cannot bear to mention) save a (hopefully) rested Mateta and a proper playing surface. But...

A tough 1-0 defeat.

?
Won't Lacroix come back so we have our normal back 3? Won't we start with Mitchell, Johnson and Hughes? Won't it basically be the team that drew against Villa with Richards i/o Canvot? That team can get something from the Sunderland game.

Although this game screams 0-0. This is our first week between games in a long long time that I can remember. After the last game I'm expecting us to be training this week and to put in a performance by the players and a 1-0 win.

When Coventry were beaten by Sutton United in 1989 they played Palace in their next game.

I was there at the game at Highfield road. Some palace fan tied a Sutton flag up against the fence and was told by a copper to take it down.

David speedie gave us a two fingered salute at half time and then scored a late winner.

Hopefully this is some strange omen of top flight teams next game after losing to non league opposition.

2 nil to Palace I think.

Edit

I think the sutton game happened the year before this away day.

I'm getting old

It was a terrible game and a crap overall experience. I got escorted to the ground forcibly more than two hours before kick off. I got hit in the head with a truncheon. Lucky it was only my head. And everyone I met in Coventry itself had some kind of mental health issue.
