Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

Some clubs knowingly flout the rules and hope the gain outweighs the punishment.
Like Lyon, who, unless things have changed recently, had no punishment from the French FA for financial irregularities. Their demotion to Ligue 2 was confirmed in June, yet overruled on appeal in July. So Lyon spending money they didn’t have won them a place in the Europa League. Crime pays!

“We played with Jefferson Lerma in the back today. He’s a midfield player. We have no centre-back available at the moment, and if Marc leaves, OK, maybe I will try my boots, because I was a centre-back. This could be an option. I will think about it.” Glasner is really annoyed he will go as he is NOT being listened to.

If Parish is going to sell Guehi, he has to have an experienced centre-back in place to step in before the deal is signed. It has to be someone Glasner gives the nod to. If this happens and Guehi is allowed to play next Thursday, then maybe, just maybe, we might avoid disaster, especially if other deals come to fruition. Glasner's history of leaving clubs because he doesn't feel supported in the transfer market points towards only one outcome. While I think he'll see out his contract, the worry is that he might feel his reputation could be damaged if he tries to be competitive this season with a very thin squad, and thus decides to quit. The next 10 days is going to be finger-biting.

Adams being linked with Real Madrid now....if he goes we might as well wave the white flag, it's been a bl00dy disaster.

How are Forest not running afoul of PSR again? Over the past three years they have a net deficit of around £200 million on player purchases, despite a curious amount of business with Mr Textor's clubs over the last two seasons.
PSR is not problem it is UEFA spending rules that are problem this is based on percentage of income spent. This is where demotion to conference, small ground , 12th Place are acting against us. Forest are going on assumption it will be a fine like villa and Chelsea after our recent experience we are not risking it.

Parish, has always up to now , come up with enough to keep us in the division.
So maybe it’s not yet time to write us off.
But surely something is dreadfully wrong to get into the situation we are in right now. Even if Eze, had not left, the squad needed building, it has never looked like it would happen, Why? The reasons for it to happen were obvious with our new fixture list, and manager calling for it.
Eze, has gone ,Geuhi, will if Parish gets his way. Parish, the club , the whole world have known , that if that happened ,they must be replaced. Without we are literally bare bones. Yet nothing, rarely any rumour, and when there is it’s loose ,with three or four other clubs in for a player grossly over priced. If this is all about lack of money that has to be a major worry .No more though than if without Freedman , the group have become a bunch of headless chickens.

The only way I see that happening is if Madrid offered £100m+. I'm also not even sure Wharton would feel ready to move abroad at this stage of his career. He seems happy with us, although I do think if he has another strong season he'll be off next summer.

The lack of planning is the issue. It’s not a new one either. Happens every season it seems. Always a different reason given but you have to conclude this is just Parish’s MO. I know a lot of people talk about how difficult it is to run a football club and I am sure it is. However, I know a few people who work in football including for EPL clubs and they say it is still incredibly amateur in lots of cases despite the money. Got to conclude that is what we are looking at here.

I know we might not have the money to just buy players but it seems like the Eze situation almost caught us by surprise. Same with Olise last year despite in both cases it being obvious they were likely to go. What is even more worrying is that even if Eze had stayed we needed back up and depth at CB but we’ve done nothing, not even a loan. I can’t believe that’s a plan. Just looks like poor planning to me.

We were linked with him last summer, but Tom Fellows seems like someone who would work in Glasner's system, being a fast, technical player who can play on both wings. Supposedly, a fee of £20 million might be enough. Everton sniffing around, so we might well show up too!

At his press conference just now Glasner said he’s not going to discuss transfers any more until after the window has closed.
Back to relying on Fabrizio Romano and Dazza again….

Another one gets away.

Assuming we wanted him at all?

Another one gets away.

Parish looks like he has lost the plot, blathering on about if Guehi doesn't sign a new contract we'll have to look at things. Like everyone and their uncle hasn't known the situation for the past 12 months

Rowe has had a bust-up at Marseille and reported the club want him out

Brownhill had a great season at Burnley and is a free agent. Maybe only a short-term fix given his age but is experienced and could provide the goals from midfield we are shockingly short of - as exemplified again yesterday

No succession plan obvious for Eze and Guehi. I wonder if we have any for a new manager. Probably a dog-fight between Hodgson and Southgate
