Transfer Rumours and Targets
  • Crystal Palace are in talks with Sporting over a £45m deal for Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande, according to The Guardian.
  • Palace are interested in 28-year-old Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who has a reported £9m relegation release clause in his Leicester City contract.
  • Italian defender Davide Calabria, 28, is also a target for the Selhurst Park club, after impressing on loan at Bologna last season and becoming a free agent upon leaving AC Milan.
  • Liverpool are interested in signing Marc Guehi, who has reportedly already agreed on personal terms, according to TEAMtalk's Rudy Galetti. Palace value Guehi at £45m (€52.1m, $61m), but Liverpool are only willing to go up to £30m (€34.6m, $40.6m). Palace chairman Steve Parish is attempting to push Guehi towards Liverpool and has dropped the asking price to £40m.
  • Manchester United are close to appointing Crystal Palace club doctor Imitiaz Ahmad as their new head of sports medicine, according to Sami Mokbel.
  • Crystal Palace are reportedly considering Southampton winger Tyler Dibling, with a potential bid of £45m including add-ons, according to The Guardian.
  • Crystal Palace are looking to sign Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino as a key transfer target to bolster their attack this summer. Palace have reportedly already lodged a €25m (£21.6m) bid for Pino, but it was rejected by Villarreal.
  • Manchester United view Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton as a "dream" option, but a move for the 21-year-old would be difficult, especially after the club's likely departure of Eze. Real Madrid are also reportedly keen on Wharton and are considering an €80m offer next year.
  • Crystal Palace are among the Premier League clubs considering Manchester City midfielder James McAtee, who is open to leaving in search of regular first-team games, according to Sky Sports News.
  • Crystal Palace are looking to sign a goalkeeper as back-up to Dean Henderson, as well as another left wing-back, two centre-backs (if Guehi leaves), and another No 10.
  • Additional players linked with Crystal Palace in earlier reports include Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet, Leicester City playmaker Bilal El Khannouss, Club Brugge's Christos Tzolis, Southampton midfielder Mateus Fernandes, and Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos.

Manager's Perspective
  • Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner confirmed that Eze will leave the club.
  • Glasner is "worried about Crystal Palace if we are losing players and we don't get the right ones in".
  • He also stated that they have been looking for replacements for weeks and hope to get deals done in the next 10 days.
  • Glasner wants the club to sign a defender and a forward before the transfer window closes.
  • Despite losing Eze, Glasner is optimistic about the team's future, noting that they have achieved great things in recent years.
  • Glasner is playing his strongest team in the Conference League and is focused on qualifying for the group stage.

If we come out of this s*** show summer with Diomande and pino or Khannouss I’d be happy.

However more likely we end up with Stirling and the Hwang

What do people think of ndidi? A name that’s been around us for a while and apparently £9m release clause. Enciso was £20m and a very talented player. Man this is so frustrating, I need to stay off the phone

Neto having a good game for Chelsea so it's Garnacho on loan from Chelsea for me after they have bought him for 20 million from a desparate United

Glasner made it clear he feels recruiting a like-for-like successor for Eze is a near-on impossible task. He wants to bring in a player that simply drives the team forward and improves the level of the squad, just like Ismaila Sarr.

Just bring back Zaha problem solved

Zaha on the bench would genuinely lift some spirits (no he can’t be the Eze replacement). We are too rigid with our policy of young early 20s and sell on.

It makes sense most of the time but if Ndidi was only £9m thanks to the release clause, that’s a small amount of money to slot in and sit there until Doucoure can come back. Then if he can’t because of injury, we replace again next summer.

Likewise, having Zaha on the bench is a damn sight better than 2 GKs and Edouard coming on.

Then we need to spend real money on a Eze replacement and 2 centre backs.
