Shelbourne vs. Crystal Palace match thread

The time that Glasner might have to improve Uche could of course be limited.
I am not expecting Uche to return to Getafe in January but it is the model of plausibility that Glasner will depart at the end of his contract.
Im hoping (for your own mental health) that when you go on your imbibing sessions you change from your glass half empty mentality here to glass overflowing. Bit like we all were after the FA Cup final.
Seasons greetings. Good health and happiness.

I agree Bromley. He might be a 'work in progress' as Willo wrote, but last night he looked eager to work for the team and, given more game time, I'd like to think Ollie could make a decent player out of him.
I agree about him looking to be a 'team player' as opposed to a head down merchant playing for himself.
Team ethic is of paramount importance for Glasner and I was encouraged that Uche may just buy into that.
He should get more opportunities in the coming weeks and against tougher opposition than he faced last night.

Excellent result, good performance and decent rotation in what was a potential banana skin. Shels are limited but spirited, with passionate support and the pitch was a great leveller.

Uche and Nketiah performing individually and collectively, Yeremy showing he can do it in those conditions, all three showing there are goals without Mateta and Sarr, Sosa and Devenny doing a job, Daichi running the show, Esse getting decent minutes. Apart from a potential Devenny injury, all positives.

I am known as "Mr Pessimist" for good reason ! There are other terms which have been hurled in my direction but I shall refrain from profanity on HOL !
Even after lubricating my larynx gloom sometimes does not evolve into sunshine !
Seasons Greetings and good health and happiness to you too. 👍 👍

I think " The Prophet of Doom" you are better know as . 🤣

Shelbourne aren't Premiership standard yet on the day we were professional enough to put the game beyond doubt before the second half. The players were keen and no doubt Glasner was happy to make a few substitutions. Overall we set up a tantalising game against KuPS, which I think we have enough in the squad for a win.

He looked a lot livelier than JP has been looking lately that’s for sure, dare I say it, a lot more interested as well
Mateta has being playing with a knee injury, picked up on International duty. This could be the reason, he has been below par, now others have a chance to claim a place. Uche did well last night, the opposition must be taken into account, but promising.

You noticed then 🤣

They’d probably give Wolves a game though

How was Kamada running the show? Is this another case of overhyping a player? Tom Soares comes to mind. As for paying him a rumoured £150K in a new contract, are we mad? Hughes us a better player and on half the wages.
We really should end Soares' contract at some stage. I thought he was ok - not brilliant but he had his moments. He wasn't the problem in the team. We had some pretty poor players over the years. Kamada has his strengths and weaknesses. Not physical enough, not accurate enough perhaps but good awareness in attack. Poor decision making sometimes. Decent movement sometimes. Not great tackling technique. Probably, all round he's a bit of a Premiership squad player who can play anywhere in midfield, probably more a link player in midfield than anything else. His main weakness is he's too easily pushed off the ball and weak tackling, in my opinion. Plus pretty average pace. But he has stamina, I bet he's high on distance run stats - I've never looked.

Well, his pass put Nketiah through to set up Uche for the first. It didn’t take much of a press but he was the one pressing the Shels player who gave the ball to Pino who then set up the second. He passed to Pino for the third.

In a long list of positives about Palace’s performance against a lesser team, where I listed six individual players, he is legitimately one of them (he was fifth in the public vote for MOTM, well ahead of Will Hughes) and ‘Running the show’ is a reference to the song the fans in the ground were singing about him. Does that cover it?

Some will find any opportunity to bash Kamada. Involvements in all 3 goals says it all really.

Unfortuently most dont recognise the the pressing or work off the ball.

He's playing as a DM, he's never going to light up the pitch.

Soares was never overhyped, he was always crap apart from his first game. Kamada is a better player than Hughes, Hughes is very one dimensional and can only play in one position, Kamada can play in a few and has more vision for an attacking pass. Even Lerma is more versatile playing in midfield and CB equally as well.

Hughes goes to the opposing player with the ball while Kamada rins away with it. He did make a very good pass for one of the goals though. I still prefer Hughes and Wharton together though.
