Part Chav Eats Semi Posh Cheeses

Accepted.

What can I say? The part chav eats semi posh cheeses life isn't for everyone. I do take on board your observation that non supermarket is better....though it's also much more expensive it seems.

However, I did say 'semi posh' cheeses, I never said I'm going for the very best of the best.

I will, no doubt, try to get a couple of harder to get cheeses from one of these fore-mentioned dedicated outlets before the end of the thread. If for no other reason than recognition of some of the picks of more cheese purists like yourself on here.

Shropshire Blue then.
Let us know weight and circumference increases.

We should do a beer and lager thread. Someone has just informed me that MADRI is shyte. I try not to end up drinking these fashionable for youngsters lagers given a cosmopolitan name, brewed in Burton.

I wish they’d bring back Lowenbrau. By far the most interesting lager, well the stories the next day and over the next few days were.

And it’s a shame to me that Guinness isn’t stronger or pubs do a stronger stout. Is there a good one?

Indeed, though I've got enough on my plate with this....literally.

No doubt an intrepid, fearless Holer among us will take up those alcoholic reigns at some point.

I buy Lowenbrau online.
Its in 500ml bottles rather than the 440 cans.
same site does a lot of german beers.

Thanks, but £40 for 12 x 500ml bottles isn’t cheap at £3.33 per bottle.

Two Whatabouteries for me, are do either of these count as cheeses ?

1. Philadelphia : More of a mucus than a cheese. It spreads well, but an admission of lack of flavour was to add chives. Not sure.

2. Edam. Is it a cheese covered in wax ? or a wax covered in wax ? Devoid of flavour or aroma. Doesn't spread or cut very well at all. Probably best used as an insole.

You're dropping truth bombs in my opinion.

My wife eats Edam. Probably because she doesn't like cheese

I saw this (from the maker who sells at our village farmer's market) and thought of you.....

Not cheap, but speciality stuff never is......

It won't look too clever in your search history though.

I've put a few things in my mouth but I have no idea what that is......As the schoolboy said to Phillip Schofield.

Let's have a chomp on one of our recent acquisitions from the recommendations.

Obviously from the land of the frog and of course the stereotypical Brie....just like I'm not fond of those garden hoppers (the real ones) I've never been that fond of Brie.

However, I really quite liked this. It was mild and creamy, moderate salt levels, didn't have that strong rind-like texture and cardboard taste that's common with Brie. That's enough to place it at the top branch of my Brie tree in my book.....cheese-book....or maybe it's a sketch pad.

My rating? 7.5.....really nice on a cracker.....but ask her permission first.
