Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

This whole multi club ownership is just a mess, me personally, I dont like the idea of it at all but someones said on this thread that something like 300 clubs are affected by it. That's 300 clubs that would be prevented from investment which makes no sense for anyone. Everyone wants more money in the game. Who knows how much influence textors investment has had on our recent success and where we would be without it.

Uefa already have the loopholes in place to allow it, I dont see why they dont just say, fine, invest where you want but any clubs with significant investment from the same person has a complete transfer ban, including loans between the 2 clubs.

There was a lot more in yesterday's announcement that Lyon could play in the Europa League. They also we're forced to accept a UEFA restructuring plan lasting upwards of four years. In my mind, starting with Textor's Palace ownership and presently with Lyon, we're viewing a forced series of sales being orchestrated by UEFA et al. In the end, at Lyon's relegation appeal meeting, as long as Textor has been removed, Lyon will be reinstated to ligue1 thus also gaining Europa.

We gain Europa as soon as the ownership name change at Lyon occurs? Mehopes so.

Everybody wins. Except Textor.

I remember listening to talksport one time and Alan pardew was talking about his experience managing in Europe and how he seen a lot of corruption and understands UEFA having these rules. I'll have to try find the clip on YouTube.
 
The most sensible option is that EUFA ban multi ownership. Sorry is 'sensible' in the EUFA lexicon? Billionaires like Textor are only interested in one thing and it's not football. Clubs should be owned, as they used to be, by a fan like Parish.

I've supported the club for over 60 years. Palace have qualified for Europe twice in that time. Once for winning the FA Cup and once for coming third in the First Division. We'll see tomorrow about the FA Cup qualification, but they were banned from it previously due to the blanket ban on English clubs following Heysel. But there is a connection between the two! Neither had anything to do with the Palace managers, players or, most importantly, the fans!!

I suspect that they wouldn't have a leg to stand on in court if they tried to do that and they know it, hence their rather feeble attempts to limit the damage.

MCO is here to stay and the sooner UEFA and FIFA recognize that and get down to putting some sensible legislation in place to manage it, the better.

Meanwhile, let's all

  • remember that we're the reigning FA Cup holders
  • enjoy that we'll be competing in the new season's curtain raiser at Wembley for the first time ever
  • give our lads a rousing welcome in the first league home game against Forest
As for what tomorrow brings, well, whatever it is, we're still lifelong Palace fans and that's all that matters.

I have always thought adversity has been what has made Palace fans so good (and perhaps also peculiar) so I agree with this sentiment.

Be loud, be proud, be peculiar! Up the Palace!
 
I won’t be convinced that the result will go for us until Willo tips the result to go against us.

Despite his commendable knowledge of football and players, he is a notoriously poor tipster where we are concerned.

On Friday morning I was quietly confident that the outcome was going to go our way - then it was delayed, now clickbait news of Textor stepping back from Lyon (however believable, or not)
Unfortunately I am now sitting here thinking that the French in UEFA & French authorities in French League 1 & Lyon have all got together & done a deal - where we weren't even at the table.

I cannot see Monday going our way -
I really hope I am wrong.
