Get this guy to UEFA headquarters.Good video from Sky Sports today, worth a watch
I like the idea of the FA stepping in to back Palace.

Leaving aside the issue of the new stand, which I totally agree is really frustrating, I'm interested to know what you think Parish could have reasonably done to avoid this situation with UEFA ?I think we’re screwed. I hope not but I think we are. Plenty of bigger clubs have broken the rules but won’t get punished. We however will be the one to make an example of. Little old Palace. F great. Next time you hear what a great job Parish is doing, remember the non existent Stand and the non existent European campaign.
Really good interview but no way the FA will step in, maybe if our name was Man Utd they wouldGet this guy to UEFA headquarters.

Well, we have just won their cup so I think they might just find it in themselves to give us some backing. Let's see.Really good interview but no way the FA will step in, maybe if our name was Man Utd they would
I am of the opinion that only those who won cups or the league go into the champions league. As it's called the "champions" league.I wish the structure was this:
League winner goes to the Champions League (they were the champions right?)
FA Cup winner goes to the Europa League
League Cup winner goes to the Europa Conference.
If any clubs from your nation won a European trophy the year before they can re-enter the same tournament.
8th place in the league shouldn't even be in the debate.
I know this is all about making a tonne of money from TV broadcasting in the middle of the week but what happened to actually having to win something to play in Europe? This is an entirely rhetorical rant by the way.
Or you could choose to remember saving us from extinction, 10 years in the Premier, FA cup WINNERS. Best day ever for most CPFC fans.I think we’re screwed. I hope not but I think we are. Yeah I don't get this Palace should have known before March 1. On that day we played Millwall I wonder if their board was checking out the qualifications for European competitions just in case they beat us and won the FA cup.Or you could choose to remember saving us from extinction, 10 years in the Premier, FA cup WINNERS. It's John Charles Textor registered at companies houseYeah I don't get this Palace should have known before March 1. On that day we played Millwall I wonder if their board was checking out the qualifications for European competitions just in case they beat us and won the FA cup.
Somehow I doubt it.
The real problem here is that UEFA doesn't like multi club ownership (neither do I) but won't ban it. In order to ban it you have to define it and unfortunately there are as many models as there are players.
We always say that Textor owns 45% of the shares, actually that is not true. His consortium which he leads owns those shares so what if one of his backers also owns shares in other clubs unrelated to Textor. What if one of his backers is also fronting for someone else and so on.
It's almost impossible to police as there are so many variables.
I think the most likely outcome of this would be an announcement from the club that Textor has signed a legally binding document to sell at a percentage of shares in order to reduce down to 25% or slightly below that.According to HMRC, a Person With Significant Control (PSC) of a company must fulfil one or more of the following criteria:
- hold more than 25% of shares
- hold more than 25% of voting rights
- have the right to appoint or remove the majority of the board of directors.
(Source - Gov.uk website)
So Textor is legally a PSC under criteria 1. He could change this by reducing his shareholding to 25% or less.
If the rules are strictly applied then yes. But this will be the first case ever of a club to be excluded for this reason and I do think there will be a lot of fall out and a potential legal challenge from Palace against UEFA. Still for me comes back to what the Sky Sports person said in his helpful analysis. If Real Madrid or another of the rich teams transgressed the rules in such a way would UEFA find a compromise to allow them to compete? Of course they would, 100%.I think we’re screwed. Interesting, it goes to my point about how complicated these things are. Textor has made no secret about Eagle Holdings and most if not all of the investors in that group are known. They are clearly backing him so if the shares are actually in his name then what role do they play? It's John Charles Textor registered at companies house

The rest can go into the eruopa and conference based on league performance.
So is my first dump of the day.Finishing second in England is a far greater achievement than winning the League in Romania.
Interesting... do you hold a significant influence over anyone else's first dump of the day or have we found something more deserving than Brighton to enter the Europa League? So is my first dump of the day.
The problem with that is it would actually make it harder for club like palace to win a trophy. If you reduce European spots the big clubs would have greater focus on the cups and less impacted by European games to fit in if they haven’t qualifiedI wish the structure was this:
