Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

I understand your sentiment but as the consensus is that our chances with the CAS are pretty slim, principally because we were warned by both UEFA and the PL about the changes but did nothing so consequently we are technically in the wrong and also apparently Parish made a faux pas when he went to Switzerland I think if we do appeal we will be flogging the proverbial dead horse. No, it's not fair but as underdogs we don't have the muscle to challenge the decision, isn't it best to take the 'punishment' and move on? The Conference is better than no Europe at all. Defeatist? Yes but we are technically at least in the wrong.
Actually I don't think it is. If we fail to win the appeal I think we should tell UEFA to stuff their Conference League. It a third rate waste of time and won't make any difference to whether players stay or go. Let's concentrate on pushing up the Premier League and winning another cup at home.

hear all the stick the conference were the sun don't shine shouts , lets be honest if on the last game of the season we at to win to get in the conference , we would all be talking about our European tour next season , if we did ,
we hurt from what's happened to make the comp a punishment not a reward , but I still think we will get our true reward Europa next season , I look at things half full not half empty , we are palace we like to get maximum coverage and making a season last longer 🙂 .
we have been doing it for years we are just attention seekers at palace , love to laugh at other fans who season finishes on the last day of the season , and go look at us our season is still going lol

The club were informed of UEFA rule changes regarding MCO last September by the Premier League and advised to ensure they took action to rectify any breaches. Parish also admitted that Textor did have some influence over him in his Sky interview last week.

CAS will not overturn the UEFA ruling, we haven't helped ourselves.

I dont understand why fans were protesting outside Selhurst Park against UEFA. UEFA are based in Switzerland not South Norwood, a bit embarrassing.

That the appeal to CAS has still not gone in suggests the club know where we sit.......albeit reluctantly.
I hope we don't get knocked out in the preliminary round, so Palace. Need to focus on the squad for next season, both comings and goings.

not as simple as that , this is were the rule is challenged on its legal aspects , so getting it all together to present to CAS is not a 5 min job , it needs to be clear what our issue is with the rule and ruling , then after all evidence is put in order , then approved by the owners that is when we can present our case to CAS , failure to prepare is preparing for failure

It could well be that any appeal to CAS will fail.

But it's still a fight worth having in my opinion. If only to highlight UEFA's governance failures. And, worse still, their corruption. I found these statements ;

In April 2023, one senior football figure came out with the following: “There are clubs - or at least one - where we still pretend it’s not the same owner [as another club] but it’s the same owner, and I will not tell you which. You can guess.”

“Pretend” is quite a word to use. And this was no less an individual than the most senior figure in European football: Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin.

and ;

Former Uefa executive Alex Phillips even said the following for this writer’s book, ‘States of Play’:“It’s never the biggest clubs… a settlement to clubs with unlimited money is great because the only thing they fear is exclusion. The simple fact that Uefa is also the organiser of the Champions League means they have an interest in preserving teams like PSG and City.”

They make the rules, but also make the money off the competitions.

As events have unfolded, it seems - and this is just my opinion - that a notification of the deadline change for evading the MCO rule was sent to Palace. But no action was taken. Why not ? It appears that the club considered themselves not to be part of an MCO. Should they have taken steps to have that legally validated ? - with hindsight, yes.

The sticking points then become around what actions could be taken from October onwards. Parish could not force Textor to place his shares into a Blind Trust. He could of course have asked him to, but the counter argument to that is why should he ? Apart from moving an arbritary date from 1/6 to 1/3, what had changed ? The rules were ( presumably ) the same the season before excepting that deadline date. So clubs that may be exposed then have a window to take action. Maranakis did it because Forest were in a decent chance of CL football. And are definitely part of an MCO. Palace didn't do it because apart from not considering themselves part of a MCO, they had only just got through rounds 3 and 4 of the FA Cup.

Another alternative is for Textor to sell his shares. Well, he'd been trying to for months - because he didn't have the level of influence he wanted at the club despite his shareholding.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but maybe a better approach to all this was to admit to missing the 1/3 deadline and then articulating the reasons why. Without claiming non receipt of emails etc.

Because we are now in a situation whereby we meet UEFA's requirements. And with weeks to spare before a ball is kicked.

Have we appealed yet? If we are going to do it, if not show intentions that we are, and if we are not say so, and why not, Parish cannot let fans protest, if there is no appeal, he has to make a statement

I agree.
It seems odd to me that the club has not slapped in an appeal if that is its intention.
The ‘senior UEFA intervention’ that Parish alluded to has not materialised and it’s 5 days since the decision was announced.
The longer this continues the less likely it seems that the club will appeal.

that is true in any appeal were you believe you have been unfairly dealt with , I have faced some personally , won 3 lost 1 and the one I lost was the first one ,

I wonder if UEFA said to Parish, “if you don’t appeal the verdict we won’t look into the relationship between Palace and Brondby.”

we have 10 days to appeal as per uefa rules

That actually crossed my mind. Does the appeal risk them saying "no ice cream for you at all then you naughty boy"?

And who does that gift European Football to? The lilacs on the South Coast...

The relationship between Palace and Brondby isn't an issue. Blitzer owns 18% of Palace - you need minimum 30% for UEFA to assume you have "influence" in the club so it's a non issue.

Also if we stay in the Conference League then so be it. Don't get why anyone would withdraw from that tournament?! We, the fans, get to still go on European trips - of which I am still buzzing about given that has never been a possibility before. Secondly, if we win the Conference League (which given our financial superiority over the teams in the tournament, we should expect to win it) then we qualify for Europa League next season. And given Glasner's history in cup competitions, that might be the easiest route to Europa League.

We will be competing against teams who finished far higher in their respective leagues than we did in the PL. There are teams from Spain,Italy and France who ended their seasons between 6th and 8th.
