Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

The author of the article at the top of the homepage reckons we'll know by 15th June
The first draw for the qualifiers is June 17th, i know that the league is later, but does a tounament start at that stage, like the F.A cup knew which teams entered, 442 down to 1, us 😍

There has been a serious lack of due diligence here, hasn't there? Or did the board never think we'd win the FA Cup?

"Lets try and win the FA Cup, best XI each game and really go for it."

"Great idea, Oliver, then we'll get to play in Europe."

"Anything else we need to think about?"

"Nah..."

There is no way that SP doesn't know who Textor owns, so why not take precautions just in case before the March 1st deadline if you're going for it in the cup? If you get knocked out then you can take the shares out of the blind trust or whatever.

I fear the worst here I'm afraid. UEFA were very clear what was needed and other clubs, who expected to be in Europe have taken the appropriate steps. We've been scuppered because either we didn't think it was likely or some bullshit boardroom politics. This is what happens when you get into bed with such people.

If we get booted out, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

100% Correct

In all seriousness its a bit ridiculous for fans to come out and say why didn't they put their shares in blind trust before 1st March when if they had done that we'd all have laughed at their wild optimism. Its not as if it does no harm to the owner of the shares. He is effectively giving up on something he owns for a year. Why should he if he believes the chances are likely that he would never really need to?
We can all sit here in hindsight and criticize but who amongst any of us actually believed we would win the FA Cup back February?

I agree.
It's the ridiculous cut-off date set by UEFA. I can't see what difference it makes to them if the owners use this blind trust loophole now?

Yes, agreed.

The whole situation is just absurd. now that it’s been mentioned I realise how early the 1st March deadline is given it’s the same day we played Millwall… in round 5. Also the way Lyon qualified is a joke given the fact they finished in a conference league spot. The number of factors at play here for this legal/ownership stand off to br possible is truly wild.

Anyway, euromillions tonight:

19, 0, 5, 18, 6, 1 .. just need a final lucky star number

Well, the stars well and truly aligned to try and f*** us, that's for sure

If we do get booted out I assume that we will commence legal action. That will then throw the whole competition into total confusion…….that will make them think twice.

You're not gonna win Euromillions. A bird shat on my wife this evening.

Regarding the league spots, there should be a modifier for the global profile of the league as well. Especially when it comes to Brondby. If Lyon and Brondby were in the Premier League they'd have finished below Southampton

Maybe us great unwashed but you'd think what Forest were doing would ring a bell in SE25.
