Marc Guehi

I don't remember it but you might be right. Was it him that sniffed the line?
I looked up the fine and it was a UEFA one. They had Blatter's expenses to pay and those African and Arab bribes don't pay themselves you know. Anyway it's all in the realms of "Fair Play" isn't it? Except it's more of a circus than a fair these days.
On topic he also made the homophobic gesture to Graham le Saux (not gay) that would have him suspended for a very long time these days

Ah, yes, Crystanbul. There may be one or two on here who have a vague recollection of that game.

To be fair, I was actually numb after that, in comparison to the game before when we lost to Chelsea at Anfield. That was the one that really cost us the league imo.

But I hated Palace for so long after that game haha

After the 9-0 game love of all things Merseyside was in pretty short supply too.

I had a job interview in Liverpool the morning after that game. It didn’t go well either!
I was on a ferry to Brittany and didn't know the score. When I finally found a radio the report went -
"and finally a surprise result from Anfield".
WHAT? WE DIDN'T WIN DID WE?.
"Where Liverpool won"
WELL DUR, BIG SHOCK.
"9-0"
OH.

The rainbow flag is almost a religion these days to some people.
The BBS appears to be taking the view that anyone who doesn't proclaim they are loud and proud must be homophobic.

So much for inclusivity. Not everyone wants to campaign on issues they might not care about or have a moral objection to.

True and where do they go from here? Banners, armbands and laces for the bondage fans or the whips and leather or the dogging brigades?
Whenever a Pride march is shown there never seem to be any football related signs so maybe this initiative is a bit one-sided.

This was Guehi's response y/day but the bbc buried it . . .

Hopefully your time in Brittany softened the blow. 🙂

YouTube used to have one of the Jimmy Liddell commentaries on that game but I can't find it.
Here's another one though. It's a bit loud and sweary so caution is advised.

Sky main event y/day afternoon had on their EPL Retro series the whole of Crystanbul match, brought back many memories as we had an HOL meet in the White Horse, what a evening that was.

Thinking about Marc I have two thoughts

Palace Supporters are Loud of being South London people and Proud of their Team Crystal Palace.

Persecuted members of the LGBT+ community need our love. Recruiting members are bad and the second two lines of the second verse seem applicable.

Should have read

Palace Supporters are Loud in support of their team and Proud of being South London people - no link to Pride.
