Marc Guehi

The FA doesn't want any propaganda on display, except for the kind that they decide is politically correct.

Of course, when you watch a football match, the first thing that you think of is what a great opportunity it is to promote homosexuality, bisexuality, transsexuality, and any other flavor of sexuality under the sun. It makes perfect sense: Football...and sexual preferences. What could be a more natural combination of ideas?

But christianity?! WHOA!!! I'm sorry, that's beyond the pale. We can't have something divisive like that on display. Booze and gambling only. And gender reassignment. You know, common sense topics.

The moral gymnastics involved here is beyond insane. It would be laughable if we weren't living through it.

Predictably many on the BBS sticking up for the FA and Stonewall completely missing the point. It has nothing to do with what Marc does or doesn't believe in. The objection is that the FA is saying we are the only ones allowed to have an opinion and if you disagree with that you will be punished.

Meanwhile no top flight player currently playing has come out.

Hey all, Liverpool fan here, but came on here to have a look at the opinions of Palace fans about all this nonsense. I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, on the Liverpool forums, or Redcafe, Guehi is of course being slated, Morsy as well.

Fair play to Palace fans for actually supporting their captain and calling out all this woke, virtue signalling, cultural Marxist BS. It seems that to now tolerate LGBT shite it is compulsory to brand yourself with an armband in support of it. It is absolutely ridiculous. This stuff should be nowhere near football. It is the only thing, this and BLM, KickitOut and whatever other political garbage they force on us, that makes me lose a bit of love for football. Sky Sports are a shadow of what they once were as well.

Anyway, just wanted to say big respect to you all. If this was Van Dijk, then the Liverpool fans would be abusing him, calling him this and that.

I have made enough anti woke comments on here for those who know my posts to know how I think. However, the rainbow armband I don't have a problem with.

There is the rough estimate that about 10% of people are gay. Might be more. Might be less. However, it means that there MUST be gay football players.

An aggressively macho and homophobic environment in which to work must be a nightmare for a gay player who has to keep what is wholly natural and what should be wholly normal a dark secret. It is as if the advances over the last decades have passed that world by.

If the armband campaign has any positive impact on this, why should that be an issue?

The trick problem is that the large organized religions still oppose homosexuality. However, i would hope that the new order and education means that those who are religious can still be friends with a gay person even if they cant accept their orientation. That is a big step forward. 30 years ago the gay person would have been bullied and ostracized.

This is from the bbc . . .

To me, that reads like they want Guehi to be punished, but, not Morsy. 2Tier FA?
Perhaps as Morsey has not sent a religious message - he has merely not worn the armband.

However, I saw an article where he was still up for censure. Maybe they can get him through another rule..?

In two minds about this... I feel that Guehi made whatever point he was trying to make with the first message (and to be clear, if his message is that he's anti-LGBTQ, then he can go f*** himself).

But to have been warned, then done it again, is pretty stupid and may well cause him to miss games. And if that happens it's entirely on Guehi..

Maybe last night's changed wording will have clarified matters for one, all and the FA; I don't believe there was ever a conflict between MG's customisation of the armband and what the armband stands for; assuming the contrary is probably deeply insulting to many Christians.

What you say is true but any fans abusing a player would be in trouble so is the problem within the game? If so they should wear all their rainbow laces and armbands when they're training and not just for show during games.

Shame that Liverpool would now support the FA over their own players. I guess that it's indicative of the whole agenda constantly rammed down all of our throats. I don't believe many of the older Liverpool fans would have been keen to accept authority over their own players.
Surely being free to feel however you like and express it could be given to footballers but now the whole game feels immersed in fake, virtue signalling politics. As someone else said, are any of us genuinely to believe that the FA cares about inclusivity whilst being paid off to ensure competitions are in Arab countries? Ludicrous hypocrisy at best, rank corruption at worst.
And to cap it all the Qatar workers were basically slaves. Despite ruling on it and promising, there will be no compensation for them at all. Loads died for fucks sake.
And in the meantime we're supposed to care that a devout religious person wrote I love Jesus on an armband he was likely uncomfortable in wearing. Talk about petty bullshit. He wore the bloody armband.
I seem to remember people feeling they had to wear armbands with insignia or risk being vilified before. Shame absolutely no one in authority seems to be able to see the bizarre double standards and outright bullying going on.
Surely it would be more appropriate for players to do this by choice? Then the club could ask who exactly is comfortable with doing it.
If you are religious, which I'm not, this could be offensive and against that. Obviously too, once again, a Muslim seems to be able to legitimately question this but not a Christian. We see enough of this now and it fits into our new found two tier standard society.
I would also say, that after being to Anfield so many times, how much I enjoy it and I have always had a lot of time for genuine Liverpool fans and people. Yet, I've noticed their replacement by tourists and the diluting of the local aspect of the club. I see tickets have gone up and in true faith I question how many Liverpool locals can afford that. Another aspect of fans losing the game.
