Marc Guéhi

The fact that Marc is now away on England duty could be a godsend. If he is angry he will have time to get it out of his system before realising that in a short while he will be in an even better position to map out his future. He will have too much at stake to underperform. Difficult for him I know but he has to be pragmatic and he is sensible enough to be so. COYP

Not a happy MG, understandably

Well in the circumstances he won’t be doing handstands. But what happened might not have done if Liverpool hadn’t have tapped Parish, along ,until the final few hours. That said he always said he would see his contract out, so be it, he can do that, it’s Palace that lose out financially . If he doesn’t put this behind him for a twelve month he only hurts his own prospects so it’s in his own best interests to get on with being the consistent reliable player that represents his country on a regular basis.

if Guehi is angry, then he should be angry at the penny-pinching Scousers. Businessmen who wouldnt stump up a price commensurate with his value. You cannot blame Palace for wanting to protect our valuable asset.

Liverpool bought troublesome temperamental Issak for 125 million. And tried to basically rob a top quality Guehi for small money.

That's a nicer way of saying someone is a c*** 😂

Assuming the Tweet is true which I doubt .

Surely behaving correctly is honouring your contract to its full length if the club wishes you to ? ..
It depends on the dialogue between player and club.

None of us know what this was exactly. But I can well imagine Parish communicating along the lines of

"ok Marc. Thanks for being so great over the Newcastle thing. Sure if Liverpool or Real Madrid come in for you we'll let you go as long as they don't take the *%^£ with the fee."

"... well looks like Liverpool have come up with the dough. We've agreed a deal with them which is great. We've also got two replacements lined up and either one of them will be great for OG. Don't worry I'll talk to him, you just get your medical done."

"... several irons still in the fire. I've spoken to OG so no issues there."

"... errrrrr I didn't really think this would happen in a million years but we have a problem."

We can shut this down , We know Guehi better than these influencers , he is a total professional , so lets drop this , and of course the farewell message was recorded , he was going to have a busy day ahead if sale happened , so get a life everyone he will be the same Marc that we love , so HF so how much we love him 😍😍

There were any number of potential problems. But surely the problem that stopped the deal going through was Igor Julio. He was never good enough as a replacement . Who ever thought a forth or fifth choice Brighton, defender would replace probably the best English central defender, would be interesting to know.
Some media say Igor walked, more likely OG made his feelings known. OG had made his thoughts on a replacement very clear, Igor, just wasn’t it.

In fact, Aarons has edited the tweet. No mention of a statement now.
There’s 2 tweets. One still says a statement. The other doesn’t say there isn’t a statement.

The Liverpool toddlers on there really cvnting off Glasner or Parish or Palace. This is how they are. It was handled badly by Parish for our interests, but Parish handling it badly doesn’t get away from the fact their owners tried to get him for a steal. Offer seriously and it would have happened earlier with a replacement. But these divvies can’t consider multiple factors and variables.

Igor was apparently squad depth. Pavlovic was the replacement. Further rumour is Gomez at Liverpool was the replacement for Pavlovic but that fell through.
