Marc Guéhi

I am disgusted that his farewell video was leaked. The club should identify whoever is responsible and sack them. I wouldn’t expect them to name and shame but they should announce that someone has paid for their sin.
Yes definitely a snake in the grass , it was a very low thing to do and the person responsible for it should be held accountable for it . Marc has behaved impeccably throughout this whole debacle and deserves nothing but respect for his actions.

I understand Guehi being disappointed. Any person would be. He also deserves credit for his performances and professionalism. He is a class act. However, what has the world come to when it’s almost portrayed as a footballer doing his club a favour for (reads details) doing the job he is under contract and paid lots of money to do?

Because a lot of football fans are very simple they compare Isak and Guehi’s behaviour and decide that behaving like Guehi gets you nowhere or sh@t on by Glasner, Parish or Palace and behaving like Isak gets you what you want. It doesn’t help when scousers are in the situation. No class or morals.

Doubt this is any more than more made up bs but it wouldn't reflect well if true. We know footballers live in a different world but even then if you earn more in a week than most people do in a year there are some things which you just have to put up with.

We will see if this statement and relinquishing of captaincy happens after Guehi reports for England…

‘The tumultuous situation has significantly affected Guehi, who received consistent praise from Glasner for his professionalism amidst the swirling speculation. The Guardian reports that he is 'extremely unhappy' and may issue a statement explaining his perspective after reporting for duty with England at St George's Park.’

Footballers in the modern game are use to getting their way.

Personally I wasn't happy with the replacement lined up for Guehi and so in that sense I'm happy the transfer fell though.

However, I'm not happy with how it came about. Essentially we seem to have had Glasner (who's going anyway) stamp his feet and give Parish a 'cancel or lose me' threat.

Parish was put in a very difficult situation and personally I think he made the only sensible choice. However, that choice now has the potential for negative consequences.

lots of apparently about all this, guehi is apparently going to give up the captaincy, glasner apparently was going to leave, apparently i have just won a voucher from tesco for £100, apparently the 0650 157 from Crystal Palace to Morden will be late, thameslink will be crap tomorrow etc etc...its all clickbait tastic! apart from the thameslink bit!

Well as you say he did originally sign a contract until 2026. So he can't really have many complaints about Palace holding him to his contract. By all accounts he was offered a new contract but turned it down.

Looking at Liverpool total spend this window 😵 A buyer's market they must have assumed.

The wider trends of transfer spending by the big 6 look quite intimidating for smaller clubs in the division. Only magnifies the sense of injustice at our European demotion. Are financial fair play requirements worth a hill of beans? We have to be on guard to stop being plundered of talent and our other signings seem like sensible business.

I feel very sorry for Marc. I hope that this season is not one where he plays through gritted teeth. He deserves every success and has made clear he sees that at Liverpool. Let's hope half a season for a fitting farewell and success in Europe.

They are the same fans who demand a score each to stop your car getting smashed to pieces whilst your watching an away match, so don’t expect too much.

The 157's are like transfers. You wait on tender hooks for ages then 2 come along together

Do we actually know that happened for certain though? Like a proper ultimatum? I can't see it personally. I just disregarded it as clickbait rubbish.

Some of the football world is up in arms due to current transfer rules.
So Guehi is miffed his situation was poorly handled by Palace which it undoubtedly was.
He is saying he will definitely leave at the end of this season, not in January.
The outcome will be a very nice c.£20m signing on fee minimum and a very handsome £10m p.a. salary minimum from next summer onwards. If he wants to go abroad, he can even secure a position in January so he has something ready and waiting. Call that a bad outcome for MG from our s*** show planning? I certainly dont. I call that a staggering result for him. What is there not to like?
And as for Palace......well we need to really start learning the crazy rules of football alll round. Transfer rules and knock on outcomes if dates are missed. Cup competition entry requirements. Even planning restrictions for new stands, and the benefit of dropping a spade in the ground once planning is achieved.
Know your business and these awful events will slide away if you are prepared to follow the rules however crazy they may be.
On the pitch things for us are looking bright. Some exciting new talent, our world class captain for another season and our outrageously good manager seeing out his contract at the very least.

Marc needs now to shut up and finish his contract, he is in a fantastic position, guaranteed starting in a good team in a world cup year, 5 months away from being able to choose where he can go, and a massive salary and signing on fee, Palace isn't run for Marc's benefit, remain as captain, enjoy your final 8 months and look forward to what you will get next year.

Or... he could throw his toys out of the pram, go on strike, get dropped from the England set up, and miss the World Cup. Highly unlikely I know given his character. I expect him to remain as professional as ever, and enjoy what appears to be his last season with Palace.

The international break has come at a good time. I get that Marc is upset who wouldn't be he was hours away from his dream move.

hopefully he will have calmed down by the time he gets back from England duty and will see out the remainder of his contract in the same professionalism he has always shown.

Has Marc actually said anything? I haven't seen anything but I haven't been following it. I've taken an international break too. I'm not that interested when Palace aren't playing.

100% Marc will be disappointed and probably upset with the club.

On the other hand he and his family are devout Christian’s and believe everything is Gods plan. There are lots of positives to staying at palace both in a World Cup year and financially with a free transfer move.
Time is a healer
