One of the reasons Noades gave for selling up.You might think so - but I guarantee they are helpful. Most authorities recognise the value of having a Premier League team. Ours seems to actively resent it.
I never knew that - or if I did, I forgot. One of the reasons Noades gave for selling up.
GREAT DOCUMENT Martin. Many thanks.Managed to upload the full booklet (I think)
Not usual for Palace to have a Friday match. In dry weather the pitch could accommodate Friday Prayers.Presumably that was Boris and in the run up to the Olympics. Unfortunately, the new Mayor does not even support a London team. He's certainly not going to be helpful. In fact, quite the opposite. Reflecting the overall demographics of London in many ways. We should really call their bluff and include plans for a massive Islamic Community Centre with state of the art mosque.

I suspect every major club has told a similar story and none have faced the same hostile indifference from their authority as we always have.![]()
New images of Leeds United stadium transformation unveiled
Proposals to modernise and expand Leeds United's Elland Road ground have been backed by councillors.www.bbc.com

My comments are entirely fair. Khan added loads of stipulations over and above what the council did. What he did at Dulwich Hamlet is irrelevant, as is whether Boris Johnson liked football or not. We are being hampered by local authorities rather than helped. Look into the stipulations yourself.Boris was happy to take the credit for the Olympics but of course all the hard work and infrastructure projects were agreed long before he became major.
In terms of Sidiq Khan, i do know he was very helpful to Dulwich Hamlet when they had ground issues a few years back so i don't think your comments are fair (Boris doesn't even like football BTW).
The previous comment re Lloyds Bank is also inaccurate - they did put a clause in the agreement re keeping SP as a football stadium but only to ensure we didn't flip it for a quick profit. Ultimately if we did sell Lloyds would get a % of the profit. However, as has been discussed numerous times there is not really a viable alternative to SP and the NSC has been discounted many years ago.
We currently have the 3rd lowest crowds in the Prem and all 3 relegated teams get 30k plus crowds each week. West Ham are actually the 2nd highest supported team in the Prem with a 62k capacity.
Villa and Leeds are looking to significantly increase capacities.
We are standing still. Eventually this will catch up with us, so assuming finance can be sorted the new stand is critical IMHO.
I saw my first Palace match there when they celebrated opening the athletics stadium. I was in the “let’s build there “ camp but so many of these new build stadiums lack atmosphere and whatever we think of Selhurst, it does feel like a proper football ground when our lot are making some noise. Hopefully the new stand will add to that if they get the mix right. That park is a complete dump. Everything is rusting away. The athletic track/football is a liability. The swimming pool etc. Is out of the arc. If they dont want the football back, they should be ashamed. It was there long before all of them and was part of this country's heritage. Probably why they dont want it.
I agree we are being hampered by the Croydon LA, but not sure why that's Khan's fault. My comments are entirely fair. Khan added loads of stipulations over and above what the council did. I think the bottom line is its not progressing at any real pace as the funding is not there or certainly not in placeI agree we are being hampered by the Croydon LA, but not sure why that's Khan's fault.
He did significantly assist Dulwich Hamlet so i think there is some relevance. As for Boris you mentioned him, hence my response.
I assume you were just having a rant rather than providing any constructive comments - maybe fans should complain in mass to Croydon LA planning. That would focus their minds
There were stipulations put in place from the overall London Council, TFL as well as the local authority. It wasn't just a rant by any means. There has been nothing but trouble overall. Dulwich Hamlet is irrelevant to that.I agree we are being hampered by the Croydon LA, but not sure why that's Khan's fault.
