This is good! Already lighting a fire under the players for next season.

Also notice Chilwell not on the bench after his 'illness', same as Clyne, too much celebration after Wolves? No idea but the fact he's incredibly pissed off will give the players some thought for the standards they need to reach next year.

Having watched the press conference I think Glasner is employing psychology, because that’s as angry as I’ve seen him all season.

He doesn’t want the players to rest on their laurels and it’s unusual to see him call out players for playing for ego rather than the team.

It’s also unusual for him to highlight one player as having an outstanding game and he justifiably chose Mitchell for this accolade.

It’s clear that he’s unhappy with Esse’s contribution ( hopefully he’ll learn or he’ll go the way of JRS).

Some may see Glasner’s approach as harsh after a marvellous season, but as he said if you let standards drop and always look for excuses you will fall short.

Personally, I love his ambition and hope the club can match it.

Good on Glasner for holding up high standards right up until the final whistle of the season.

Esse's sub almost certainly linked to him trying to run through 5 players and losing it which led to the goal, rather than finding a sensible pass once he'd driven the ball forward.

Glasner also mentioned 'players' playing for ego. I wonder whether Franca (for his shot outside the box which went wide) also falls into this too.

Kamada was brilliant again today and Devenney had a lovely cameo too. Already excited for next season with our squad + Riad and Doucoure back, Ozoh and JRS returning (I know JRS may be sold) and hopefully a few new faces too.

After seeing the sh!te that competed in the final for this year I reckon with the right backing and retaining the current squad he can do it again. In which case the CL is there. It's a long shot but I think he's willing to follow that path and of course if it falls short there will be lots of people interested in him. Great man, wonderful coach and with the FA Cup in the cabinet the best we ever had (and that comes from a Coppell man through and through)

Agree with all you say but somehow I still feel like a lottery winner who wakes up every day thinking it's all been a dream and it'll take years for that to go away.

There is a weird place where the tears came from at the final whistle. Probably not the thread to go into it. But I already feel my brain is better for having us win the Cup. I feel happier, calmer and more clear thinking. Like there was an underlying issue, a hidden sore, that has now healed up and everything else is better.

So many Liverpool fans around me at the match today… the threat from the Palace box office to impose a ban on future ticket purchases clearly didn’t work!

I guess when you can sell a £30 ticket for £500 and therefore largely cover a season ticket renewal it’s very tempting - especially for an end of season match that for Palace had limit meaning.

I’ve never been to an away game where the whole home crowd was quite so fervent… we barely got a chant going! There were also 1,000s outside the ground. It was their party day… and we nearly got a win. Looking forward to the rematch at Wembley for the Community Shield in August.

He played some nice touches before, probably could have taken an extra touch before crossing to Nketiah. Then held the ball too long after that.
Very big decision from Glasner to do that if he is making a point

An assumption has been formed that Esse was removed from the field of play for this incident but we are not privy to information as to the precise reason for such an action.
It is the model of plausibility that the reason was something totally different and my thought process has gallivanted down this pathway.

Great game today & great atmosphere.
I'm not a Liverpool team fan as dislike most of their players, Van Dick, Jotta, etc etc ....
Their fans today were really friendly with so so many making a point of walking up & genuinely pleased we won the FA cup
Not with complete anti City meanings behind it but genuinely pleased for us as a club to win a major trophy.

We really have a bad record against 10 men - luckily the most important (Millwall) was an exception
Eze, who had a poor game, did not look that emotional or wave to fans much, IIRC. So he may not push for an exit and could even stay if the release clause is met and its not a team he wants to join
Lerma was solid again. I wonder if he will play more often in the back three as that may mean we just have to replace anyone (Guehi et al) leaving - assuming Riad can contribute at the business end of the season

A few points on the final table
Most pundits had us 9-11 before the season so 12 is close and reasonable given the start we had, If you can write that off to all the late signings/injuries/outgoings we secured 50 points in the final 30 matches. Extended over a season that would be 63 points, likely enough for a Europa spot. Unless we strengthen significantly, with Europa next season I can, however, predict another 12th place finish
Probably the best final table for us. We seem to have the hex on Villa so if we meet them in the Europa we can feel confident. Also, assuming Guehi is off, then Newcastle, Chelsea and Spurs - all associated with him - can offer Champions League for at least one season: and competition for him will boost the price. Plus Brighton miss out on Europe.
At the beginning of the season I would have taken a 15 point cushion over Spurs
