Liverpool vs Crystal Palace match thread

If Eze and Mateta were still on we'd have scored 4.

The two things to sort out in the summer are a) a total lack of cover in defence, and b) the gulf in quality between the starting forwards and their replacements.

Hopefully much of b) can be sorted out through development of the existing players. It is a sizeable amount of development.

All in all, a brilliant season and much to look forward to next year.

Mitchell man of the match.
Lerma, Kamada and Hughes very good.

I had to turn the commentary down.

The continual assertion that Liverpool could turn it on like a tap if they felt like it, we were mere fodder.
Every touch by Alexander Arnold or Salah treated like it was genius.

We could have won if a bit more ruthless.
Esse has much to learn, but that's fair enough as he's stll raw.

Nothing to be unhappy about!

I would definitely taken a draw before kick off.

Yep, we should have won - but after the week we’ve had…my emotions are all over the place anyway.

Season over - looking forward to tomorrow 👍

Overall though what a great tail end to the season. Last year, with that run of 7 matches - 6 wins and a draw - was good, but in 2024/2025 even better with the last 8 games bringing 4 draws and 4 wins , but significantly, two of those wins came in the the semi, and final, of the FA Cup.

Now for a rest from football. I know some supporters crave their Palace fix but for me a 10 week break is a welcome and much needed relief.

Football is football and after that first half performance and the chances we had, we probably should have won that and I’d of love us to have stuck that on Liverpool. I’m therefore slightly disappointed with the outcome. The one bonus is I think that Mitchell is actually improving and that bodes very well. I’d also happily have taken that result before the game too.

C’est la vie. We didn’t allow Liverpool a 90 min party nor a win and there’s much to celebrate bigger picture.

Well done Palace, today and this season.
