Kamada will be an asset

At games I sometimes select a player to watch, particularly if they are new to the club.
Today I chose Kamada.

In the first half today he took up a nominal position on the right of the front 3, but often still appeared in deeper positions.
He had minimal influence on the game in the first half as the game largely seemed to pass him by.
He was involved in one promising move, but that was scant overall contribution.

In the second half he moved to a central midfield role and became more involved.
He always makes himself available to receive a pass from teammates and tries to prompt moves with short sharp passes.
He's what I would describe as a busy player, but in reality he does not affect a game positively.
His passes are often intercepted and he's frequently caught on the wrong side of opponents.
He deserved to be sent off for his high tackle so with the international break and the 3 game suspension it will be a while before he has the opportunity to prove people wrong.

From what I've seen to date he may just be one of those overseas players who are not cut out for Premier League football .

Glasner has indicated that he sees Kamada's strength as winning the ball high up the field and creating/scoring from advanced positions.
We've seen little evidence of this other than his goal v Villa.

Interesting.

My observation was that his body language was very negative and he adopted the attitude of releasing the ball backwards to any fellow teammate that was closest to avoid any unnecessary mistakes on his part - I think his confidence is severely affected, but for the wages he’s on there should be no excuse. . He should be able to rise above this and keep battling on which he appears not to which has made me very disappointed in him.

Its really poor on our part that we pick on a player for being useless but I think Kamada has lost the fans now , even those (like me) who were prepared to give him time .
Even if he is having a hard time getting up to speed or fitting in with the rest of the squad that shouldn't stop him just doing football basics of closing down out of possession and finding space with it . He does neither to any effect .
If he were 21 Im sure we would give the lad some leeway but he is 28 and is not going to get any better . His only plus is that he can be useless in a variety of positions .

In his defence his best performances throughout his career have been as a striker /second striker .Various managers have tried him in other positions without success which begs the question of why is Glasner when previous managers were obviously right ?

Maybe he is taking one for the team and just doing as he is asked but I think its unfair from Glasner to keep playing him in midfield where he is clearly struggling and getting dogs abuse from the fans .

The ban will take him out of the firing line for a few weeks and give everyone a chance to reevaluate what he can bring to the team . If he comes back in as a midfielder my ire will be directed at the manager not the player .

11 PL games , no assists , no goals ,2 yellows 1 red

I feel he has been the source of a problem with the players, he and 2 others he was brought here, on Glasners say, put on top wages , never played in PL, and is way out at this level. His better games have been against lower opposition , that's his level, he just hasn't got it, another dud we bought.

I couldn't believe it when Devenny was taken off and Kamada was kept on. However, the silver lining was the red card thus depriving us of having to watch Daichi's painful attempts at being a PL player. He hasn't (and perhaps) can't adjust to either the speed or the physicality of Premier League football.

We all make mistakes and TBF, our recruitment until this last window has been decent over recent years. The important thing is to recognize when mistakes have been made and rectify them at the first opportunity. Hopefully the club will decide to sell Kamada for a nominal fee, thereby getting his wages off our books rather than paying his contract off.

Hmmm, after hanging on to Reidevald and Ferguson for so many years, I’m thinking we might be stuck with kamada for some time as well

Pieman Schlupp is still on the books, whilst a trim and fit Ayew was released - go figure.

In fairness, not released, sold. Which I think most thought was a fair price - at the time. Currently, I'd pay ten mil to get him back.
Whilst I was sorry to see Jordan go, I couldn't complain about the decision as I didn't think we'd get anything for him once his time with us was up. Given the spate of injuries we've had, hindsight would say that retaining Ayew would have been a good move.

The lunge yesterday as it wasn't anywhere near a tackle was poor but Mateta's supposed pass to him did him no favours. Perfectly summed up most of yesterday in that passage of play, a whole unit making the basic of errors, viz. Fulhams first goal.

Kamada is to the 2024 what Max Meyer was to 2018.
We paid that donkey £125k a week if you can believe it and we are paying this one £100k a week.
And don’t give me all this ‘well it is a free transfer’ BS. Imagine what the other players must think. It’s embarrassing

Meyer was on £60k a week (there was lots of discussions about it at the time) otherwise he would've been top earner ahead of Wilf. Kamada is on a VERY generous £81k a week as we doubled what Lazio were paying him.

The thing I really don’t understand with Kamada is why OG so desperately wanted a player who clearly doesn’t fit in his system at Palace. There is simply no way he is a central holding midfielder and yet that is where he’s been played more often than not. Just utterly bizarre from the manager
