Kamada will be an asset

Now that was a great performance from Kamada. I was surprised he started but credit to him as aside from an early misplaced pass he more than earned his spot. For me the key thing was he looked more confident and didn't second think every thing he did.

I think so, he's been better in the last few games and I think the wide open spaces of Wembley suited him.
I've certainly changed my opinion of him lately, he'll be ahead of Lerma, Hughes and Devenny for the Cup Final
As Taylor's Lovechild (feels odd writing that) pointed out his confidence has suddenly bloomed. It's a bit chicken & egg - plays better because of more confidence or confidence increases because he's playing better? In either case long may it continue.

I joined the forum during the early days of Taylor's reign (July 2006). It didn't take long for me to regret my username, but it was too late. It could have been worse, I could have joined in the early days of Frank de Boer's reign!

I shared the concern about him starting alongside Wharton yesterday.

But it worked and worked well. Whether that becomes Glasners preferred pairing, we shall see.

But credit where it's due, Kamada played really well. I had critisised him for playing ' safe ' but yesterday he played more expansively and it suited him. I really hope he uses this as a turning point and pushes on from here....

Do I think he deserves to start over Hughes… absolutely not. For me Hughes has been up there with JPM as my player of the season and I was genuinely shocked he didn’t start yesterday.

However, having watched the game back (why wouldn’t you after that performance) I can see what OG was going for. In game intelligence was so high yesterday and that’s what Wharton and Kamada give us in the middle. Wharton was outstanding in the Hughes roll yesterday plus he had the typical Wharton vision. Kamada also offered a similar threat.
Hughes is great but bringing him on a sub late in the game is going to have a much greater effect than Kamada as a sub.

As other better judges than me have said in recent weeks his game is based on positioning rather than running hard and tackling.

If you are playing poorly but still running hard and trying to tackle it looks like you are doing something.

If you relying on your game intelligence, tactical awareness and positioning and you get it wrong it looks like you are totally lost on the pitch. It looks appalling.

Having been bought in knowing 'the system' it was even more alarming that he looked lost in it. My bet is that it was the intensity of the premier league that overwhelmed him.

But, after nearly a whole season, it looks like he has got there and played his full part in what was one of the great days for the club

100% agree.

Just a shame that so many are too ignorant to pause for a moment and question.
What a nauseous reply. You really are a totally arrogant know it all, straight down the throat of posters who don’t concur with your world view. There are such things as valid alternative opinions but rather than argue your point you try and belittle other posters. It’s really not a good look.

I suspect Kamada would have surprised quite a few supporters with his performance.Well done to him.
It was not that long ago when I opined on HOL that whilst he had been disappointing "There is a player in there".

Not arrogant at all. Just cant stand people constantly slagging a player off, and questioning out managers sanity for playing him. Over and over again, even when he plays well.

And never stop to think that maybe, just maybe, if Glasner is picking him for our biggest match of the season, you might be missing something.

I think you’ve done it again !

I tend to agree with you, it seemed the big issue with sum are his wages, which are totally irrelevant. He is actually very cheap, a total of £10m for 2 years, if you compare with Nkethia at £39m for 2 years including transfer and wages.
Glasner obviously knows what he can do, it just taken him time to settle into the pace of English football.

totally agree. Was pleasantly surprised by his performance.
