I used to sing "Super, super donk, super, super donk, super, super donk, super donkey Pardew"Super Al. Fan favourite. Super Kamada - any comedy value, much entertainment, pure determination, bit of grit? Not really: the epitome of a damp squib. Which is unfortunate.
Super Al was largely ironic. But he scored in the semi - which was the main thing those days. Who knows -it would be the Palace way for Kamada to score in our semi. Then he will be a hero for a few minutes at the very least. Possibly club legend if we win it.I used to sing "Super, super donk, super, super donk, super, super donk, super donkey Pardew"
Which he was. No regrets.

IIRC, Kelly was really only brought in as a squad player and did well enough in that role. Pardew was very limited but tried hard and was probably one of the lowest earners (He cost 7,000 pounds). Kamada is in a different categoryTBF, all I remember of Martin Kelly’s time with us was his goal against Spurs in our last run to the final.
That’s enough for me to think fondly of him 🤣
His wages are irrelevant, its what his agent negotiated for him as part of a free transfer. Is it the money or his performances that irk you?For the money he's being paid, he should by now be looking like the finished article.
He's not even close at the moment.
1. BothHis wages are irrelevant, its what his agent negotiated for him as part of a free transfer. Is it the money or his performances that irk you?
Chillwell gets £200k a week, Nkethia gets £90k a week and cost £29.70m are they both worth that sort of money?
Err - you have to be kidding - he’s the highest paid player at the club - you think he’s value for money at £100+ a week ?His wages are irrelevant, its what his agent negotiated for him as part of a free transfer. Is it the money or his performances that irk you?

How do you know? If I was in a business and someone totally incompetent earned twice as much as me, I'd definitely be upset and looking to move. Wharton. Mateta and Guehi may all feel the same wayHis wages are irrelevant, its what his agent negotiated for him as part of a free transfer. Is it the money or his performances that irk you?

Try re reading my first paragraph - I have no problem with what players earn if they prove to be worth it.Yes it was very brash and greedy behaviour of him. He should have said to Parish "Oh no, that's too much. Can I start of at £10 an hour and work my way up to the £100k?"
🙄
That's a business though. We're talking about football, difference in wages aren't restricted to teams only, or leagues. How do you know? Football is also a business. That's a business though. We're talking about football, difference in wages aren't restricted to teams only, or leagues.
There's plenty of crap players around the Premier League (and Championship) earning massive amounts.
Really by that reasoning all of our players should be leaving for other teams.
I’m going to make the assumption that you, like me, wasn’t good enough !Yes, Kamada’s wages are irrelevant! Because when I read about any (!) footballer’ s wages in a professional League in Europe I shake my head and wonder what I did wrong.
Sorry to be bluntSo he's better than Hughes in your opinion? There is no divine right on any of our managers to be always correct. Likely then we would have a trophy cabinet full of gleaming cups.
Unfortunately, people can use their own eyes and thoughts and make their own opinions.
You tell us why Kamada deserves to be picked instead of a mystical someone knows better opinion.
He was. Or at least, he was the catalyst. None of those players have ever, ever been as bad as him. Never.I'm not saying he is better than Hughes. But he's certainly not as bad as most make out. And he was lucky not to get an assist on Sat.
And no managers wont always be correct, but there will always be a reason for what they do. Vs a fan who 'never liked that Kamada fella'
People can make their own opinions. Unfortunately peoples minds are already made up when the see him in the team, and so will never give him a fair crack. Wharton, Hughes, Lacroix, Mitchell etc were all worse than Kamada.
I personally just try to see the best in things, whereas many others are keen to write off JPM, Lacroix, Mitchell, Glasner, Nketiah, Kamada etc . Always seams like there has to be a player/manager that is getting digged out.
Why did he deserve to get picked. I'm not tactically astute enough to know. But Glasner is, and decided for whatever reason that he was preferred to Hughes. And for the first 30 mins looked like the right call.
Regardless , Kamada was not the reason we lost that game.
