A whole million quid multi year deal. And it definitely won't be anything used for killing. It's a shame it's not higher, we have good kit to export. And Israel are important partners, for example the Sky Sabre defence system for the British Army uses the "Battle Management and Command Control System" from Israeli arms company Rafael and this is what Iron Dome also uses.

I expect Steeley would be over the moon if we armed Hamas of course, let them get stuck into the Jews

I see the news media is awash with reports that the “first stage” of the “Peace Deal” has been agreed between Israel and Hamas and expected to be implemented on Monday. Accompanied by encouraging statements from world leaders and scenes of joy in Israel and Gaza.

I would love to be proved wrong, and regret being cynical, but I suspect this is bs and won’t happen.

It’s not a deal at all. It’s 3 separate announcements. One each from Israel and Hamas which say and expect different things and another from Trump claiming it’s a deal because the Peace Prize announcement is due tomorrow.

Trump is so naive he doesn’t even understand what the Peace Prize is given for these days or that the nominations needed to be in by 31st January. The decision isn’t taken tomorrow. It’s announced tomorrow. So unless they try to reward endeavour it seems very unlikely he would have been even seriously considered.

So as soon as tomorrow is over I anticipate that those scenes of joy will be replaced by more destruction and counter claims of blame. I really hope I am wrong.

Trump is a fraud the peace deal is rubbish and wont work (despite multiple Arab states backing it) or if you prefer:

Trump is claiming credit for other people work e.g. it's a good deal so can't possibly be Trump.

They just hate the idea that Trump may actually pull this off, so much for their concern for the Palestinian people. If this had been Obama's deal (won Noble prize for bringing peace to the Middle East) they would be lauding it.

I normally keep out of this thread but any deal that stops both sides killing each other is never going to be perfect but it has to be better than what is happening now.

If the protestors really do care about Palestine then they will support the peace efforts. I wont hold my breath.

Let's be honest. We wouldn't be having any chance of a peace deal if Israel hadn't bombed Hamas to the point where they have to negotiate.

I suspect the peace will last until Hamas regroup.
