Israel v Hamas

HAMAS citing non-compliance with the agreed hostage release protocol, as all hostage releases are suspended.
Donald Trump's words about buying Gaza and kicking the Palestinians out to a 'wonderful place', probably aren't easing the situation.
Quite possibly the intended outcome after Netanyahu’s visit. The hard right Orthodox Jews in the Israeli Government, on whom Netanyahu depends for his political survival and possibly even his freedom, have no real interest in the ceasefire. They want to obliterate Gaza and ethnically cleanse it before absorbing it into Israel. So Hamas being pushed by some violations may be a deliberate strategy.

Perhaps all the other hostages are dead. Hamas would stoop to anything.

It had crossed my mind.

I think all sides are treading a fine line, Israel, Hamas and the USA/Trump. The Gulf states are keeping their powder dry.
Just when you think the situation couldn't get any worse, then you realise there's still many many lives still at risk,

The last three paraded looked like they had just been released from Belson.

They could be but I think they could admit that and try to move on, even if Israel probably won’t let them. I don’t think Netanyahu had any intention of this being anything more than a temporary pause in the fighting and with Trump throwing a massive spanner in the works that looks increasingly likely to be true.

I think I missed it... When did they say this?

It's very interesting that neither Egypt nor Jordan want to take in Palestinian refugees who are in need...

Those involved don’t come out and say these things openly! You need to read between the lines and judge by what is done. Not what is said. Even if that is pretty extreme!

Try distilling these and you will end up with the essence. The essence will give you the flavour, which is pretty bitter:-

Both would be unstabilised by such an action.

Much better for the people to remain where they want to be, where they have the motivation to work and rebuild, and provide the assistance they need to do so.

Building refugee camps elsewhere just relocates a problem. It doesn’t solve it.

Ah, so they didn't say it. You're just reading between the lines 🤣.

The first article reports, "Netanyahu has said Israel has "no intention of permanently occupying Gaza or displacing its civilian population..."

There is no evidence that Netanyahu or the majority of the government wants to follow the lead of the people with those views for the territory. It would be impossible to police without thousands of Israeli soldiers getting killed. They would much prefer a neutral Arab country to govern instead.

How can those countries be destabilised? So where should they go if they need to be relocated? Where is more suited than Egypt and Jordan?

How about a new state in the USA as you suggested where Israel should have been created?

A court in the UK has allowed a family of 6 Palestinians, to remain in the UK using a Ukrainian Refugee Scheme . . .

The attitude of the Middle East to Palestinian refugees seems to be pretty much the equivalent of that of the West to Traveller folk........
Unfortunately the Palestinian people have become a handy stick to beat Israel and the west with. The last thing that some of the ME states wants is a peaceful resolution. If there was peace some of those states would worry that their peoples would stop protesting about Israel and start asking questions about their own governments.

Foreign wars /perceived enemies is a tried and trusted method of keeping the domestic population in line.

When Jordan has already accepted 2 million of them that really doesn’t make sense.

Travellers travel. The Palestinians have a home they want to stay in.

Netanyahu lies almost as much as Trump. Judge by actions not the words which spill from mouths full of forked tongues.

Netanyahu, and especially the orthodox right settlers who prop him up, are now expressing support for Trump’s crazy idea. Is this true, or are they just playing him?

It’s been clear for years that there is an element in Israel that wants to oust the Arab populations in both Gaza and the West Bank. Unfortunately they currently control the government.

The ECHR at its best!
It is a temporary Ukrainian scheme which has now been taken advantage of by the leftie Judges - watch the floodgates from all parts of the world start trying it and watch Labour welcome them with open arms.
This is the man - Appointment as a Salaried Judge of the Upper Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum: Norton-Taylor - Courts and Tribunals Judiciary
Who knows whether Hamas will now be setting up in the UK.
At least the Home Office tried to do the right thing.
It is up to Starmer to sort this out but he won't!
