Israel v Hamas

What do you think this means?

As the report says intercepted peacefully by hungry people or by force by others. It doesn’t say by Hamas! Do you know the balance, because I don’t?

A lack of security provided by Israel who are responsible for it?

More questions than answers?
If these supplies were intercepted by hungry people then what's the problem? Weren't they the right hungry people?

1) I didn’t. I claimed a disregard for civilian casualties.
2) That’s true, but doesn’t excuse the Israeli response.
3) The intention was to weaken morale and shorten the war as a consequence.
4) There was no hunger in Germany in WW2 or allied policy of starvation. There was rationing, just as we had it.

It’s nothing like the same.

Bomber Harris conducted area bombing, hitting both industrial and civilian infrastructure in the areas. Resulting in large losses of civilian life.

You know even less about the WW2 air war.

You think that Harris focussed on this? It was mixed but industry was primary. Why else do you think that we struck the dams? Why move He162 production inside mountain caves? I don't remember places like Peenemunde, Keil and Hamburg being major population centres. Night bombing from 25000ft? You think they had JDAMs?

As for 2, what a shift. Wtaf does your Israel comment to do with it? Nothing.

Following World War II, Germany experienced a severe food crisis, often referred to as the "hunger years" (Hungerjahre) from 1945 to 1949. This period was characterized by widespread malnutrition, with daily calorie intake sometimes dropping to as low as 1,000-1,500 calories, well below the amount needed for long-term health. The combination of wartime devastation, disrupted agricultural production, and the Allied occupation contributed to the crisis.

When it comes to the terrible situation in Gaza all roads lead to Hamas.

It respect of food aid they steal it, sell it and have been documented shooting at people waiting to collect aid.

No Hamas, no food crisis

But it was intended for hungry people and went to hungry people. What's the difference?
Ultimately I agree but it’s not the point that’s under discussion. Which is trying to shift the blame from Israel to the UN. The UN say that they are being obstructed in delivering aid, that what is getting through is only a tiny fraction of what is needed, that only 50 drivers have been approved and that the routes used are too few and well known, thus people are intercepting them constantly.

No Hamas no war
The Palestinians didn't put HAMAS in power. Read about their armed conflict to control Gaza.
Palestinians were treated like second-class citizens by Israel, who controlled everything from electricity supplies to access to medical facilities.
What's left of the Palestinian population need to be treated like humans.
Obviously HAMAS should be wiped from the planet, but are probably regrouping/hiding in neighbouring States

Hamas was elected by Palestinians in 2006. Their violent takeover of Gaza in 2007 solidified their control leading to ongoing conflict.

Israel faces constant security threats from Hamas who's only goal is to commit Israeli genocide. Israel's restrictions on Gaza like controlling borders and resources stem from preventing attacks from Hamas.

It’s certainly true that I know less about the air war in WW2 than the sea war, my father served in the Royal Navy and was on board the Prince of Wales when it was sunk, survived and spent the rest of the war in the Admiralty. I was born in WW2 and learned a lot from my Dad’s stories and the memorabilia he left me. So for specifics about the air war I rely on informed sources like this:-

It was the area bombing, particularly that of Dresden, that was so controversial. Not the targeting of the dams, which also impacted huge numbers. Hamburg isn’t a major population centre? I was there earlier this year. It’s pretty big.

Just as the bombing of Gaza by the Israelis is controversial today. For somewhat different reasons perhaps but still controversial because of the level of civilian casualties.

I don’t think anyone posting here has made any argument against the need to neuter Hamas.

It’s the way it’s being done which is questioned. Not simply because of the impact on innocents who have been displaced and are hungry and desperate but because of the hatred the inhumanity will breed in their hearts. They may well be brainwashed by Hamas, from school through adulthood, to hate Israel and every Jew but the way Israel is behaving simply confirms the hatred, when more compassion would challenge it.

Compassion is Israels goal and this can be seen in its peace offers and coexistence with Arab citizens. But security against a group sworn to its genocidal destruction must come first.

Long-term peace requires dismantling Hamas.

So, according to your logic, Israel are allowing the food through, then intercepting it.

Nuts.

Right

"I don't know about the air war, I heard from my dad about the navy as he was on Prince of Wales". (I'm NOT looking at Wiki, it was sunk by the IJN using "Betty" bombers along with HMS Repulse in 1941 prior to the capitulation of Singapore. Utterly stupid of the RN to put them out there without carrier protection.)

It means NOTHING. Other side of the world and completely unrelated in many ways.

You cite wiki, YES, Dresden was controversial, but it was ONE raid out of THOUSANDS. I said that bomber command targeted industry. Factories, marshalling yards, docks, infrastructure. This was primary by far.

Why are you arguing? I know LOADS about this subject, I could stand up and give a ted talk on it, you should be listening not arguing ffs

Are hungry people getting these supplies or not?

Schrödinger's Aid, both being stopped by the IDF, sent by the IDF, not eaten by hungry people and also eaten by hungry people.

Who knows?

It is a classic anti semitic trope to say Jews are responsible for their own persecution as the Cornish based moron has done. If Israel showed more compassion etc.

I usually ignore the deluge of nonsense he spouts but this is very racist
